Winston Anthony Williams (born 17 November 1952) is a former Kittitian cricketer who played for the Leeward Islands in West Indian domestic cricket. He was a wicket-keeper who batted right-handed.
A former Combined Islands under-19 player, [1] Williams made his first-class debut for the Leewards in January 1976,playing in a friendly fixture against the Windward Islands. A few months later,he also played against the touring Indian team. Williams' other first-class appearances all came during the 1977–78 season –two against the Windward Islands,and one against the touring Australians. [2] He also played two limited-overs fixtures during the season,against Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago in the 1977–78 Geddes Grant/Harrison Line Trophy. [3] Williams' younger brother,Shirlon Williams,also played first-class cricket as a wicket-keeper,but the two never appeared together at that level. [4]
The Combined Islands cricket team was a cricket team that represented the cricket-playing islands of the Lesser Antilles,excluding Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago who fielded their own teams. They played in 13 Shell Shield tournaments from 1965–66 to 1980–81,when they won their first title and were subsequently disbanded into Leeward Islands and Windward Islands. Those two teams had first-class status before 1980–81,but competed together in the Shell Shield.
Ray Ricardo Wynter is a former Jamaican cricketer who played first-class and one-day cricket for Jamaica from 1975 until 1982. A right-handed batsman and right-arm opening bowler,he played 30 matches in all in those formats. In 1983,Wynter participated in a rebel tour of South Africa. As a result,he and all the other players on the tour received a lifetime ban from West Indian cricket. Wynter later emigrated to the United States,and played for the U.S. national team at the 1990 ICC Trophy.
Leonard Alphonso Harris was a West Indian cricketer who played for the Leeward Islands between 1958 and 1971. An opening batsman for much of his career,and occasional bowler in his final seasons,Harris played in West Indian first class cricket,as well as facing the MCC team,England and Australia during his career. He played 27 matches,scoring nearly 1,400 runs at 29.04,including a century,and taking 15 wickets at 19.46. He then went on to play lower-level cricket for St. Kitts until 1976,and helped create the first cricket academy in the Leeward Islands.
George Raymond Allen was a West Indian cricketer. Allen was a right-handed batsman who bowled right-arm off break. He was born on Montserrat.
