Witch Hunt are an American four-piece hardcore punk band currently located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States, who formed in 2001 in northern New Jersey. [1] [2] The band started out as a 3 piece with Janine on bass, Rob on drums, Nicole on guitar and all members sharing vocal duties. [3] [4] In 2005, Vince joined as the drummer and Rob switched to guitar. [5] Members also play or have played in Lost Cause, End Me, Lusts, Clockcleaner, Sickoids, and Snowstorm. [6] Their lyrics mainly speak of social-political themes such as imperialism, sexual abuse, the state, and the environment. [7] [8]

Doom (British band) crust punk band

Doom are an English hardcore punk band from Birmingham whose first lineup were together from 1987 to 1990. Despite its short existence, the band is considered pivotal in the rise of crust punk, a punk rock style that fuses extreme metal with anarcho-punk. They recorded for Peaceville Records and are cited as an early precursor to grindcore. Doom were also a favourite of BBC Radio DJ John Peel.

The Spits are an American punk rock band formed in Michigan in 1993. They later moved to and were based in Seattle for several years. Currently, the band has released five albums. The first four were all officially self-titled, but were unofficially titled 1, 2, 3, and 4, respectively. The albums were released by Nickel and Dime Records, Slovenly Recordings, Dirtnap Records, and Thriftstore Records respectively. In October 2011 they released their latest album, called V, on In the Red Records.

Hellnation was an extreme hardcore punk band from Covington, Kentucky, formed in 1988. Their sound has been described as thrashcore, power violence and grindcore. Hellnation have completed numerous tours of the United States, Japan, Brazil and Europe. Hellnation's style was composed of quick guitar riffs, large amounts of distortion, and angry lyrics that were often profane. Lyrical subjects included police brutality, consumerism, and even the underground punk scene.

The Fuzztones American band

The Fuzztones are an American garage rock revival band formed in 1980. Founded by singer-guitarist Rudi Protrudi in New York City, the band has gone through several member changes but is currently active in Europe. Dismissed by some critics and listeners as a "bar band" or unoriginal, they maintained a strong fan base in New York, in Europe, and in Los Angeles. Rudi Protrudi moved to Los Angeles in 1987, after the breakup of the original band, to organize a new Fuzztones, consisting of Jordan Tarlow, John "Speediejohn" Carlucci, (Bass) Jason Savall, & "Mad" Mike Czekaj on drums. This lineup bears the distinction of being the only 1980's garage rock revival band to secure a major label record deal, when they signed to RCA.

Joseph Genaro American musician

Anthony Joseph "Joe" Genaro is an American musician and songwriter, best known as the guitarist and co-lead vocalist for the punk rock group The Dead Milkmen. Residing in Philadelphia, Genaro has performed with a number of punk and indie rock groups, most recently including The Low Budgets, and is also a solo artist.

Fire Dept

The Fire Dept (1987–2004) were a British punk rock group. The main core of the band over the years comprised Neil Palmer on guitar and vocals, Neale Richardson on bass and Robin Taylor on drums. Johnny Johnson of Thee Headcoats played bass on stage from 1995 to 1997, and on the Fire Dept's Elpee for Another Time (1996).

Jucifer American sludge metal band

Jucifer are a two piece American sludge metal band whose albums have been released by Alternative Tentacles, Capricorn Records, and Relapse Records along with their own imprint Nomadic Fortress Records. The band's members are Gazelle Amber Valentine on lead guitar and vocals, and her husband Edgar Livengood on drums. Jucifer is notable for the extreme volume at which they perform, and the gigantic wall of amplification used for Valentine's guitar, as well as the dichotomy that has existed between much of the recorded material and their live shows. They are also notable for incessant touring beginning in the mid-1990s. In 2000 Jucifer moved into an RV and became completely "nomadic in nature", preferring to tour constantly, living in their tour vehicle, rather than following the normal practice of album release/tour/time at home.

<i>Mama</i> (Nomeansno album) 1982 studio album by Nomeansno

Mama is the debut album by Victoria, British Columbia punk rock band Nomeansno. Featuring the band's original incarnation comprising brothers John and Rob Wright, the album was released independently on LP in 1982. Nomeansno reissued a remastered version the album in 1992 on their own Wrong Records imprint, coupled with the tracks from their Betrayal, Fear, Anger, Hatred EP of 1981.

Blood-Red States is a hardcore anarcho album by the Philadelphia band Witch Hunt. It is Witch Hunt's second LP. The album was recorded in 2005 and released in 2006 by Profane Existence. The album deals with political and social problems.

The Flenser is a San Francisco-based record label specializing in experimental music. The Flenser's risk-taking ethos has been rewarded with notoriety in the international heavy metal music community.
