Joseph Badejo, [4] professionally known as wolfacejoeyy, is a Nigerian-American recording artist and producer. Badejo is best recognized for his gentle, expressive, and R&B-driven melodic rap sound, which has helped him rise from the underground to the mainstream. In an interview with The FADER, wolfacejoeyy revealed Tyler, The Creator inspired his name. [4]
Years before building up a discography, when he was a teenager, he’d be in his bedroom Googling “how to make beats.” [5] Now, at 21, Joeyy is on the edge of musical notoriety. [6] After collaborating with the producer WhereIs22, to release their collabrative EP, "22Joeyy," [4] [7] in September 2023, Wolfacejoeyy's track, "Cake," went viral. [3] [8] His album "Cupid" [9] [10] [11] had a score of 6 on RapReviews, [12] "Valentino" [9] [13] [14] had a score of 7.4. [15] Badejo dropped his song called "Miss Me," [5] leading it to being the first time labels began to approach him. [16] He was also featured in the "Paradise and Brighton Music Hall". [17] Last to finish the Powerhouse NYC 2024 set, Wolfacejoeyy and Chow Lee appeared. [18] On February 20 Wolfacejoeyy sang at the Bentley Campus Black History Month event. [19] "alexis texas" was suprisingly mild and slightly sexual for a song named after a porn star according to Alphonse Pierre of Pitchfork . [20] Wolfacejoeyy performed a freestyle to a club-inspired WhereIs22 beat on On the Radar earlier this year, and he later released the official version, the carefree "Shake It." [21]
Music reviewers have characterized Badejo's music using a variety of terms, mainly being "sexy-drill" [4] [9]
