Wolfgang Glock (born 16 January 1944) is a retired West German rower. He competed at the 1968 Summer Olympics in the double sculls event, together with Udo Hild, and finished in sixth place. [1] He won four national titles, two in the single sculls (1969 and 1972) and two in the double sculls (1967 and 1968). [2]

Hans-Ulrich Schmied is a retired German rower who specialized in the double sculls. In this event he won bronze medals at the 1972 and 1976 Olympic Games and finished in fifth place in 1968. He also won one world (1974) and two European titles. Schmied went to the 1978 World Rowing Championships on Lake Karapiro in New Zealand as a reserve but did not compete. It was at those championships that he got closer to one of the female rowers whom she later married; Bärbel Bendiks was also present as a reserve.

Wolfgang Güldenpfennig is a retired East German rower who competed at the 1972 and 1976 Summer Olympics. In 1972 he won a bronze medal in the single sculls event, whereas in 1976 he became Olympic champion in the quadruple sculls. Güldenpfennig won two world titles in the quadruple sculls, in 1975 and 1977, as well as a European bronze medal in the single sculls in 1973. After retiring from competitions he worked as a rowing coach, training Karl-Heinz Bußert, Uwe Heppner, Uwe Mund and Martin Winter.

The men's single sculls competition at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich took place from 27 August to 2 September at the Olympic Reggatta Course in Oberschleißheim. There were 18 competitors from 18 nations, with each nation limited to a single boat in the event. The event was won by Yury Malyshev of the Soviet Union, the nation's fifth victory in the event; the Soviets returned to the top of the podium after having their four-Games (1952–1964) winning streak broken in 1968. Alberto Demiddi of Argentina took silver, the seventh man to win multiple medals in the single sculls. Wolfgang Güldenpfennig earned bronze, the first medal for East Germany as a separate team.

The men's coxed pair competition at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich took place from 27 August to 2 September at the Olympic Regatta Course in Oberschleißheim. There were 21 boats from 21 nations, with each nation limited to a single boat in the event. The event was won by East German crew Wolfgang Gunkel, Jörg Lucke, and coxswain Klaus-Dieter Neubert; it was the first medal in the event for East Germany as a separate nation. Czechoslovakia (silver) and Romania (bronze) also won their first medals in the men's coxed pair.

Udo Hild was a West German rower who competed at the 1968 and 1972 Summer Olympics. In 1968 he finished in sixth place in the double sculls event, together with Wolfgang Glock, and in 1972 he finished fourth in the single sculls. Hild won three national titles, one in the single sculls (1970) and two in the double sculls.

Wolfgang Sigl is an Austrian rower. He finished fifth in the men's lightweight double sculls at the 1996 Summer Olympics. Both his mother and grandmother were multiple medallists at European Rowing Championships in single sculls. His grandmother won five silver and two bronze medals, and his mother won two bronze medals.
