Wolverine is a Swedish progressive metal band, that was formed in 1995 by Stefan Zell and Marcus Losbjer.
Wolverine started out playing death metal with melodic influences, but when they released their first EP, Fervent Dream, in November 1999, the music had evolved into progressive metal. Fervent Dream got an overwhelming reception all over the world and was soon sold out. The band also played outside Sweden for the first time in connection with the release of the album.
The beginning of 2001 saw Fervent Dream re-released as a digi-pack, re-mastered, and with two bonus tracks. During the summer of that same year, the band traveled to Germany and recorded the follow-up to Fervent Dream – The Window Purpose.
The Window Purpose was released in December and the response was once again overwhelming; the album saw the band gain the accolade of Album of the Month during January 2002 from the Netherlands' metal magazine Aardschok. Once again Wolverine played around Europe to promote the album.
In 2003 the moody album Cold Light of Monday was released through Elitist Records. The album explored the darker side of the band. The album was well received in many of the biggest metal magazines, such as Kerrang and Metal Hammer. During 2003, Wolverine also opened up for Anathema in London.
The band re-released The Window Purpose in the beginning of 2005, re-mastered and with renewed artwork as well as a new recording of an old track from Fervent Dream. Later that same year, Wolverine played the European edition of the ProgPower festival for the third time in their career. The band co-headlined the festival's second day together with Pain of Salvation.
After splitting with Elitist/Earache Records in 2005, the band found a new home in Candlelight Records and the time has now come to release Still, Wolverine's fourth studio album. Recorded at the Spacelab Studio, Germany during the summer of 2005, the album holds nine tracks featuring Wolverine's unique sound. The music is probably best described as a mixture between The Window Purpose and Cold Light of Monday.
The recording of the album took place on various locations around Sweden during the first half of 2010, and it was mixed by Jacob Hansen at Hansen Studios in Denmark. The album was mastered by Eroc and released on May 23, 2011. According to Marcus Losbjer, the songs on the album are more musically complex than before. To help create the desired atmosphere, electronic elements and effects were also utilised. He also states he feels it is the natural evolution and continuation from Still. Vocalist Stefan Zell has also noted that Communication Lost is the band's best production. [1]
Stefan Zell also performed bass on Wolverine's first two albums.
Edge of Sanity was a Swedish death metal band that, alongside Opeth, is commonly regarded as being the first to fuse extreme metal styles like death and black metal with progressive rock. The group was founded by Dan Swanö in 1989 and ended in 2003.
Pain of Salvation is a Swedish progressive metal band led by Daniel Gildenlöw, who is the band's main songwriter, lyricist, guitarist, and vocalist. Pain of Salvation's sound is characterised by riff-oriented guitar work, a broad vocal range, oscillation between heavy and calm passages, complex vocal harmonies and the structures of their albums, syncopation, and polyrhythms. Thus far, every album released by the band has been a concept album. Lyrically, the band tends to address contemporary issues, such as sexuality, war, the environment, and the nature of God, humanity, and existence.

Falconer was a Swedish power metal band from Mjölby, formed in 1999 by the former guitarist of Mithotyn, Stefan Weinerhall. Falconer carried on many of the traditions set by Weinerhall's previous band and played a fusion style of power metal that utilizes folk instrumentation and melody to create a more medieval sound.
Without Face were one of the most famous internationally known Hungarian progressive metal bands. They were formed in the city of Veszprém, Hungary in 1997. The band featured a dual female and male vocal line-up similar to that of gothic metal, with progressive metal and thrash metal overtones and they managed to mix these different styles in a very original own version. Their lyrics are influenced by the writings of H. P. Lovecraft, Edgar Allan Poe, and Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.
Nicke Andersson, also known as Nick Royale, is a Swedish musician best known for his work as the singer and guitarist for the rock band The Hellacopters and drummer for the death metal band Entombed. He was also briefly the drummer for Tiamat in 1989. Besides his work with the Hellacopters, Andersson currently plays and writes songs for the soul band The Solution, the death metal band Death Breath, the hard rock band Lucifer, and rock band Imperial State Electric.

11 Dreams is the third album by Danish extreme metal band Mercenary, released through Century Media Records. The original version was released in 2004, that being in Europe, the American version was released one year later, in 2005. The U.S. release contained two bonus tracks, one being a 3D version of the song "11 Dreams", and another being a radio edit of the song. This is the first album featuring Mike Park on drums and Martin Buus on lead guitars. This is also the final album to feature founding member Henrik "Kral" Andersen on bass guitar and death growls.
Chapter V: Unbent, Unbowed, Unbroken is the fifth studio album by Swedish power metal band HammerFall, released in 2005 through Nuclear Blast. It features the track "Knights of the 21st Century", which includes guest vocals from Venom frontman Conrad "Cronos" Lant; it is also the band's longest studio recording to date with a length of 10:25, though after 1 minute and 40 seconds of silence, at 12:05, there is an outtake from Cronos.

Sun Caged was a progressive metal band originating in the Netherlands. Sun Caged was formed by ex-Aura and Lemur Voice guitarist Marcel Coenen and drummer Dennis Leeflang in the spring of 1999. Taking influences from artists in the metal genre such as Dream Theater, and Iron Maiden. They have performed as support acts for bands such as Vanden Plas, Queensrÿche, Spock's Beard, and Fates Warning. Currently, the band has three albums, a self-titled studio album which was released on October 22, 2003, a second album, Artemisia, which was released on March 23, 2007 and the third album was released in 2011 and is called The Lotus Effect. All three albums received critical acclaim from the media.
Destiny is a Swedish heavy metal band that was formed in 1980 by Stefan Björnshög (bass) and Magnus Österman (guitar). The band has released seven albums to date. Their debut album Beyond All Sense was released in 1985 and their latest one, Climate Change, in October 2016. The band categorises its music as "mörk rock", which in English translates to "dark rock". Stefan Björnshög is the only remaining member from the original line-up.

The Devil's Hall of Fame is the first studio album by Danish progressive metal band Beyond Twilight. Released July 23, 2001. The album has many of the band's characteristic elements such as complex arrangements and dramatic dark multi-layers and was written mostly by the band's mastermind, Finn Zierler. The album showcases the elements which would become characteristic of Beyond Twilight's unique sound, namely a very atmospheric, heavy progressive sound. On release, the album was met with good reviews from fans and critics. It's their only album featuring Norwegian singer Jørn Lande.

Live in Hamburg is a live album by Saga, which was released by earMUSIC on 2 September 2016. It was recorded live in Hamburg on 28 April 2015. While the original plan was to split up the concert and release the recordings as bonus tracks to the 12 albums in 12 months reissues, the series was not continued beyond Pleasure & the Pain and the concert was released in its entirety instead. The original album is strictly limited to 5000 copies worldwide, however, in 2018, earMUSIC reissued the album in a regular jewel case.
Big Electric Metal Bass Face is the second studio album by Die Warzau, released on October 1, 1991 by Atlantic and Fiction Records. The band introduced elements of funk music and the speeches of American politicians into their sample library to musically articulate topics concerning race relations such as "Funkopolis". Percussionist Chris Vrenna, who had performed on Nine Inch Nails' 1989 debut Pretty Hate Machine, joined the band to collaborate on tour and to record in studio.
