Women's Cot is a Nigerian film that was directed by Dickson Iroegbu in 2005. [1] It was produced by Great Future Productions. [2]

Plot

A woman whose husband has died and has become a widow. As a result of this challenge, members of the family treat her badly, so she decided to be at the widow's cot as result of threats from family relatives. [3] [4] [5] In Nigeria, cultural practice dictates that a man's family can collect all of the deceased property when he dies, leaving his widow destitute. The widows in this film form a powerful group to prevent this practice, but they however become corrupt. The movie is about women's rights, murder and marriage.

Ayinla is a musical eponymous film based on the life of Ayinla Yusuf popularly known as Ayinla Omowura, an Apala musician who was stabbed to death by his manager named Bayewu in a bar fight on 6 May 1980 at Abeokuta. The film premiered on 13 June 2021 in Lagos and was released to theatres on 18 June 2021. Directed by Tunde Kelani, the film was set in the 1970s and early 1980s and shot in Abeokuta, Ogun State. Lateef Adedimeji assumed the role of Ayinla, starring alongside Omowumi Dada, Bimbo Manuel, Ade Laoye, Kunle Afolayan, Bimbo Ademoye and Mr Macaroni. Ayinla is Kelani's first major film since his 2015 release of Dazzling Mirage. The budget for this feature film is officially given as ₦50 Million.

It is a story about an abuse survivor molested by her father, she finds out in her later years that her mother has known all the while and has been giving her contraceptives, covering up for her father in order to save the family name. This leaves her feeling betrayed, even when she finds love.
