Women At Work International(WAWI) is non profit organization located in Kampala, Uganda found by Halima Namakula. Since 2003 Women At Work International has been helping to empower children and women to claim equal rights, access to health services, education, economic and socio-cultural opportunities. [1]
Women At Work International helps commercial sex workers off the streets by training them to also become peer educators with WAWI, while others abandon prostitution and learn how to make and sell necklaces, envelopes, candles and bracelets. [2]
Women At Work International is the first organization to do a charity walk to support and help end fistula in Uganda. [1] They also joined hands with Dr. Sherry Thomas and organized a team of US doctors to come to Uganda and provide free services to fistula victims. [3]

George Wilberforce Kakoma was a Ugandan musician who wrote and composed "The Pearl of Africa", Uganda's national anthem. Kakoma's composition was first played publicly by the Police Band conducted by Mr. Moon on October 9, 1962 during Uganda's Independence Day Celebrations. He received a personal token of sh2,000 from the Prime Minister Dr. Milton Obote for his work.
Fistula Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization focused on treatment of obstetric fistula, funding more repair surgeries than any other organization, public or private. As of September 2022, they support hospitals and doctors in over 20 countries across Africa and Asia. The foundation is dedicated to treating obstetric fistula by covering the full cost of fistula repair surgery for poor women who would otherwise not be able to access treatment. They also provide fistula surgeon training, equipment and facility upgrades that make fistula treatment as safe as possible, post-surgery counseling and support for healed patients. The foundation has been recognized by several organizations for its transparency, effectiveness and efficiency, earning a top "A" rating from Charity Watch and a four star rating from Charity Navigator for 16 years in a row, placing it in the top 1% of charities reviewed on the site. The foundation has also been selected as one of 22 charities recommended by Princeton Professor Peter Singer's organization, The Life You Can Save. The organization's cost-effectiveness was also noted by GiveWell in 2019.

Love Faces is a Ugandan drama thriller film written and directed by Usama Mukwaya. It is Mukwaya's feature film directorial debut, and stars Laura Kahunde, Moses Kiboneka Jr., Patriq Nkakalukanyi and Salome Elizabeth in leading roles.
