A tennis court is the venue where the sport of tennis is played. It is a firm rectangular surface with a low net stretched across the centre. The same surface can be used to play both doubles and singles matches. A variety of surfaces can be used to create a tennis court, each with its own characteristics which affect the playing style of the game.
The Australian Open is a tennis tournament held annually at Melbourne Park in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The Queen's Club is a private sporting club in West Kensington, London, England. The club hosts the annual Queen's Club Championships men's grass court lawn tennis tournament. It has 28 outdoor courts and ten indoor. With two courts, it is also the national headquarters of real tennis, hosting the British Open every year excepting 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Queen's Club also has rackets and squash courts; it became the headquarters for both sports after the closure of the Prince's Club in 1940.
The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, also known as the All England Club, based at Church Road, Wimbledon, London, England, is a private members' club. It is best known as the venue for the Wimbledon Championships, the only Grand Slam tennis event still held on grass. Initially an amateur event that occupied club members and their friends for a few days each summer, the championships have become far more prominent than the club itself. The Scottish Championships its original name until 1994 also known as the Scottish Lawn Tennis Championships, and the Scottish Grass Court Championships, was an outdoor tennis event held from 1878 through 1994. It was played at various locations throughout its duration including Bridge of Allan, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Moffat, Peebles, and St Andrews in Scotland. The dates the tournament was held fluctuated between June and August annually.
The 1880 Men's tennis tour was the fifth amateur tennis tour held that year. It now incorporated 41 tournaments staged in Australia, Great Britain and Ireland and the United States. The 1880 Wimbledon Championships was won by John Hartley against Herbert Lawford, in the Challenge Round.
The 1881 Men's tennis tour was composed of the sixth annual pre-open era tour now incorporated 65 tournaments staged in Australia, Canada, Great Britain and Ireland, and the United States. The 1881 Wimbledon Championships was won by William Renshaw. This year also saw the inaugural and important 1881 U.S. National Championships held at Newport Casino which Richard Sears won. This was also the year that the United States National Lawn Tennis Association, which is the world's first national tennis association, was founded. Renshaw then won two other big tournaments of the year, the Irish Lawn Tennis Championships and Princes Club Championships, whilst Richard Taswell Richardson won the prestigious Northern Championships.

The Wimbledon Championships and Irish Championships was won by William Renshaw, the U.S. National Championships was won by Richard Sears collecting his second title other big winners were Richard Taswell Richardson picking up the Northern Lawn Tennis Championships and Ernest Renshaw winning the Princes Club Championships, The title leader this season was Robert W. Braddell winning 4 tournaments from 6 finals.
This was a tennis rivalry played between British player Arthur Gore and the New Zealand player Anthony Wilding, which in their respective careers met 14 times from 1905 until 1912.
The Bedford Open also known as the Bedford Lawn Tennis Open Tournament was men's and women's grass court tennis tournament established in 1880 as the Bedfordshire LTC Tournament. It was held at the Bedford Lawn Tennis Club, Bedford, Berkshire, England and ran through until 1974 when it was abolished.
The Norfolk Championships also known as the Norfolk County Lawn Tennis Championships was a combined men's and women's grass court tournament originally founded in 1906. It was held in multiple locations such as Norwich, Great Yarmouth, and Cromer, England until 1971.
The North London Championships also known as the Gipsy Championships or simply Gipsy was a combined men's and women's grass court tennis tournament founded as the Gipsy Lawn Tennis Tournament in 1894. The tournament was held at the Gipsy Lawn Tennis Club, Stamford Hill, London, England until 1930.
The Cromer Covered Courts Championships or formally the Cromer Covered Courts Tournament or simply the Cromer Covered Courts was an open men's and women's international indoor Clay tennis tournament founded in 1925. The tournament featured two editions of the event, one was held in the autumn known, and was known as the Cromer Covered Courts Autumn Meeting and the other in the spring. The tournaments were organised by the Cromer Covered Courts Club and held at the indoor courts at Newhaven Court, Cromer, Norfolk, England. The event ran until 1965.

The Durham and Cleveland Championships was a men's and women's grass court tennis tournament founded as in 1900 as the Durham County Association Tournament In 1903 that event became the Durham County Lawn Tennis Championships. It was first played at the Ashbrooke Sports Club Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, England until the tournament ended in 1982.
