Working Women is a Pakistani television series directed by Yasra Rizvi and written by Bee Gul. It is co-produced by Kashif Nisar and first aired on Green Entertainment on 20 September 2023. The series revolves around six working women who try to balance their professional and personal lives in a male dominated society.

Production

After working in Kashif Nisar's Dil Na Umeed To Nahi , Nisar suggested Rizvi to work for upcoming network Green Entertainment. [2] Rizvi was approached to direct the series Working Women which was written by Bee Gul. [3] Before Rizvi, Nisar was approached to direct the series, however he couldn't direct it due to its bold narrative. [4] Rizvi announced the project in April 2021 on her Instagram handle. [5]

The principal photography took place from April to September 2021. [3] [6]

The series premiered on 20 September 2023 on Green Entertainment. [7]

Critical reception

Feminism in India remarked that Working Women "establishes a new benchmark for poignant and significant storytelling". [8] . While mentioning it along with some other television productions, The News International opined that the success of these series is "ample proof that the modern-day viewers’ tastes have matured." [9] Another commentator found that "Each woman represents a facet of the challenges faced by women in their pursuit of personal and professional fulfilment." [10]

Dil Na Umeed To Nahi is a Pakistani social drama television series produced by Kashf Foundation, directed by Kashif Nisar and written by Amna Mufti. It features Yumna Zaidi, Wahaj Ali, Fajar Khan, Bonita Malik, Muhammad Sadoon and Isbah Irfan in leading roles. The story focuses on several social evils including child marriages, child labour, human trafficking/sex trafficking and prostitution, the story revolves around three individuals, Allah Rakhi, Jamshaid and Naseem Zehra who face these problems.

Dil Awaiz is a 2022 Pakistani television drama series that airs on Geo TV, written by Madiha Shahid, directed by Mazhar Moin and produced by Abdullah Kadwani and Asad Qureshi. The cast includes Azfar Rehman, Kinza Hashmi, Affan Waheed, Seemi Raheel and Kashif Mahmood in a lead role.

The Pink Shirt is a Pakistani web series directed by Kashif Nisar and written by Bee Gul. It stars Sajal Aly and Wahaj Ali as leads with Nazish Jehangir, Hamza Firdous, Sania Saeed and Rehan Sheikh in supporting cast. The web series debuted on SXSW, Sydney 2023 on 16 October 2023.
