Laila Wasti is a Pakistani actress and director. [1] She is known for her roles in dramas Qurban , Dil Ruba , Daldal , Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay , Sun Yaara and Dunk . [2]

Early life

Laila was born on 3 June 1977 in Karachi, Pakistan. [3] She completed her studies from Saint Joseph Convent, she graduated with English Literature. [4] Then she went abroad to America. [4] She studied at University of California, Los Angeles, she did masters in filmmaking. [5] [6] Laila's mother Tahira Wasti and father Rizwan Wasti were actors. [7] [8]

Career

Laila started acting on PTV in 1990s. [4] [9] She was noted for her roles in dramas Eaitraf, Pukaar, Saibaan, Operation Dwarka 1965, Heer Waris Shah and Eendhan, Badlon Par Basera. [10] [11] She also appeared in dramas Sun Yaara along with Junaid Khan, Hira Mani also with Faris Shafi and Qismat with Minal Khan and Zhalay Sarhadi. [12] [13] Since then she appeared in dramas Sangar , Qurban , Teri Meri Kahani , Bharam , Daldal and Dunk . [14] [15] [16]

Personal life

Laila and Fahad married on 27 December 2008. [4] They have one child together. [4] [17] Shortly after her marriage she was diagnosed with leukemia. [4] After 6-7 years of painful treatment, she finally survived cancer. [4] [18] Laila's father Rizwan Wasti died in 2011 and her mother Tahira Wasti died in 2012. [19] She has two older brothers Rehan Wasti and Adnan Wasti. [20] [21] Laila's cousin's Maria Wasti is also an actress. [22] [23]

Bhool is a 2019 Pakistani television series created by Abdullah Seja under their production house Idream Entertainment. It stars Saheefa Jabbar Khattak, Affan Waheed and Saboor Ali. Two episodes of the show are aired every Wednesday on ARY Digital. It ended on 16 October 2019, having completed 32 episodes.

Teri Meri Kahani, is a Pakistani television series produced by Momina Duraid under MD Productions and directed by Ali Faizan. It was first aired on 21 February 2018 on Hum TV. It stars model-turned actor, Saheefa Jabbar Khattak and Azfar Rehman in lead roles while Saboor Aly as second lead.

Saheefa Jabbar Khattak is a Pakistani model turned actress. After receiving an award for Best Emerging Model at Lux Style Awards and Hum Awards, Khattak ventured into acting by playing the leading lady in the 2018 television serials Teri Meri Kahani and Beti. Both of which earned her critical acclaim.

Ramsha Khan is a Pakistani actress who works in Urdu-language television. She made her debut with the film Thora Jee Le (2017), the same year she appeared in the television drama Woh Aik Pal. For her portrayal of an independent girl in Ghisi Piti Mohabbat (2021), she won the ARY People Choice Award for Favorite Actress. <i>Dunk</i> (2020 TV series) Pakistani drama series

Dunk is a Pakistani drama serial that premiered on 23 December 2020 on ARY Digital. It deals with the false allegations of harassment and stars Bilal Abbas Khan as Haider, Sana Javed as Amal, Yasra Rizvi as Saira and Noman Ijaz as Professor Humayun. The serial has been written by Mohsin Ali and directed by Badar Mehmood, the duo who previously collaborated for mega-hits, Aisi Hai Tanhai and Ishqiya. According to producer Fahad Mustafa, the series is based on a real incident in Lahore. The story is inspired by an incident that took place in MAO college, Lahore, where a professor committed suicide over false harassment allegations by a student.

Shaheen Khan is a Pakistani actress. She is known for her roles in dramas Mohabbat Mushkil Hai, Maryam Periera, Haara Dil and Dulhan.

Sehar Khan is a Pakistani actress and model. She is known for her roles in dramas Main Agar Chup Hoon, Sanwari, Zakham, Mushk, Rang Mahal, Fasiq, Fairy Tale and Fairy Tale 2.

<i>Teri Meri Kahaniyaan</i> 2023 Pakistani anthology film

Teri Meri Kahaniyaan is a 2023 Pakistani anthology film comprising three short films, directed by Nabeel Qureshi, Marina Khan, and Nadeem Baig based on scripts by Ali Abbas Naqvi and Basit Naqvi, Vasay Chaudhary and Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar respectively. The film stars an ensemble cast of Hira Mani, Mani, Ramsha Khan, Sheheryar Munawar, Wahaj Ali, Mehwish Hayat, Zahid Ahmed and Amna Ilyas. The film released on 29 June 2023, on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.
