The World Chamber of Commerce (WCC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit global organization dedicated to fostering international trade, cultural and humanitarian cooperation. The World Chamber organizes initiatives and events targeted at furthering these aims. The WCC develops partnerships and acts as a liaison between international and local businesses, supporting efforts from embassies, consulates, multilateral organizations, bi-national chambers of commerce, and businesses promoting global commerce, economic, cultural and social exchange. The WCC headquarters is in Atlanta, United States.

History

The World Chamber of Commerce was founded by International Trade Consultant Solange Warner in 2008. The organization's first activities were a set of successful international trade seminars which served to bring together the international and local business community in Atlanta. Warner also developed the " WCC International Hero Award" to recognize individuals who have demonstrated excellence in international trade, cultural and humanitarian work; along with the "WCC International Trade Process" to assist international business with initial complimentary advice, when entering the U.S. business market.

Officers

The World Chamber of Commerce's honorary chairs include former Atlanta mayor and U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Andrew Young, [6] the former president of Colombia, Alvaro Uribe, the Premier of Bermuda, Paula Cox, presidential candidate and former Governor of New Mexico Gary Johnson, LucasFilm VP Howard Kazanjian and actor and environmentalist Ed Begley, Jr. The Executive Committee consists of three chairmen of the board- Charles Shapiro, former U.S. Ambassador to Venezuela, Denis Barbet, [7] Consul General of France in the Southeast U.S. and Solange Warner, founder of the World Chamber of Commerce. The President of the WCC board is Roma Klicius, honorary consul of Lithuania, the vice president is Dan Moss, Jr., Senior VP at Morgan Stanley, the Secretaries are Charles Kuck and Richard Summers, attorneys at law, and the Treasurer is Wayne Johnson, Principal at Johnson Consulting Services.

Humanitarian initiatives

The World Chamber of Commerce has created the initiative: "Human Trafficking Awareness to Keep Our Children Safe" to end human trafficking in concert with several humanitarian organizations. Additionally, the World Chamber of Commerce has created initiatives to provide aid to victims of earthquakes in Haiti and Chile.

Jim Bacchus American politician

James Leonard Bacchus is an American lawyer, businessman, and politician who served as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Florida from 1991-1995. He was a founding member and twice chairman of the Appellate Body of the World Trade Organization in Geneva, Switzerland from 1995-2003. He later became a fellow of the European Institute for International Law and International Relations.

Global Peace Foundation

The Global Peace Foundation (GPF) is an international nonprofit organization with a stated mission to promote “an innovative, values-based approach to peacebuilding, guided by the vision of One Family under God.” GPF partners with government ministries, community and faith-based organizations, and United Nations offices to develop and execute programs in 20 countries.

Sara Del Carmen Jofre González was the President and CEO of the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (1996–2008) and founder of the Hispanic American Center for Economic Development (2001) in Atlanta.

Forum for International Trade Training

The Forum for International Trade Training (FITT) is "a not-for-profit organization that offers international business training, resources and professional certification to individuals and businesses."

The Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce' is Gwinnett County, Georgia's non-profit, member-funded business advocacy organization, representing a number of businesses within Gwinnett and the metro Atlanta region.

Dominik Knoll

ECPAT International

ECPAT International is a global network of civil society organisations that works to end the sexual exploitation of children. It focuses on halting the online sexual exploitation of children, the trafficking of children for sexual purposes and the sexual exploitation of children in the travel and tourism industry.

Horasis is an independent, international think tank, headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland. Founded in 2005, by Frank-Jürgen Richter, former director of the World Economic Forum, Horasis is dedicated to the innovation and development of sustainable emerging markets. The annual Horasis Global Meeting in Cascais, Portugal, is a gathering of business people with government officials, scientists and intellectuals centered on issues concerning corporations and societies.

The Task Force for Global Health is an international, nonprofit organization that works to improve health of people most in need, primarily in developing countries. Founded in 1984 by global health pioneer Dr. William Foege, The Task Force consists of eight programs focused on neglected tropical diseases, vaccines, field epidemiology, public health informatics, and health workforce development. Those programs include the African Health Workforce Project, the Center for Vaccine Equity, Children Without Worms, International Trachoma Initiative, Mectizan Donation Program, Neglected Tropical Diseases Support Center, Public Health Informatics Institute, and TEPHINET. The Task Force works in partnership with ministries of health and hundreds of organizations, including major pharmaceutical companies that donate billions of dollars annually in essential medicines. Suphachai Chearavanont Thai business executive

Suphachai Chearavanont is a Thai business executive currently serving as CEO and executive chairman of C.P. Group, a multinational conglomerate. Also chairman of the C.P. Group telecommunications subsidiary True Corporation, he was the CEO of True Corporation from 1999 until 2017, when he was named C.P. Group's chief executive. Also a vice chairman at Charoen Pokphand Foods and CP ALL, he is a director at companies such as TrueMove and TrueVisions.

The Lagos International Trade Fair (LITF) is the largest international exhibition in West Africa. The Trade Fair is the premier International Trade Fair in Nigeria with the spectacular 10-day event usually starting on the first Friday of November, annually.

Steve Koonin is the chief executive officer of the Atlanta Hawks and State Farm Arena. He is the former president of Turner Broadcasting System. Koonin chairs the Georgia Aquarium and is on the boards of World Wrestling Entertainment, Rubicon Technologies, Fox Theatre, Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, Emory Healthcare, and the Woodruff Arts Center.
