History

Formed on Tuesday 18 August 1899 in the Bowling Green Pub, taking their name from an older club with the same name. [3] Wrexham Victoria's first game was a 5–4 defeat against Newton Rangers, on Saturday 2 September 1899, in the Chester and District League, [4] whilst their first victory was a 3–2 win over Tarporley on 16 September 1899. [5]

Wrexham Victoria won the Football Association of Wales Trophy four times in 1890–91, [6] 1900–01, [7] 1901–02 [8] and 1903–04. [9] They joined The Combination for the 1906–07 season, [10] however they finished bottom of the league. [11]

They were to be found playing in Division One of the Wrexham and District League for 1907–08.

The Wrexham Victoria name did make a return in the 1920s. They appear in the second round draw of the Welsh Amateur Cup in 1923–24 against Wrexham Civil Service. [12] They were beaten 5–0 by Oswestry in the 1924–25 Welsh Amateur Cup. [13]

The 1894–95 Welsh Amateur Cup was the fifth season of the Welsh Amateur Cup. The cup was won by Caergwrle Wanderers who defeated Bangor Reserves 2-1 in the final, at Flint.

The 1895–96 Welsh Amateur Cup was the sixth season of the Welsh Amateur Cup. The cup was won by Queensferry Ironopolis who defeated Shrewsbury Athletic 3-0 in the final, at The Racecourse, Wrexham.

The 1899–1900 Welsh Amateur Cup was the tenth season of the Welsh Amateur Cup. The cup was won by Wellington St. Georges United who defeated Llanrwst Town 2-0 in the final, at Flint.

The 1900–01 Welsh Amateur Cup was the eleventh season of the Welsh Amateur Cup. The cup was won by Wrexham Victoria who defeated Singleton & Coles 1–0 in the final, at The Racecourse, Wrexham.

The 1901–02 Welsh Amateur Cup was the twelfth season of the Welsh Amateur Cup. The cup was won by Wrexham Victoria who defeated Machynlleth Town 1-0 in the final, at Oswestry.

The 1904–05 Welsh Amateur Cup was the fifteenth season of the Welsh Amateur Cup. The cup was won by Esclusham White Stars who defeated Bangor Reserves 4-0 in the final, at Wrexham.

Gwersyllt Foresters were a Welsh football team from the village of Gwersyllt, Wrexham.

Hare & Hounds were a Welsh football and athletics club from Wrexham.

Buckley Victoria was a Welsh football club based in Buckley, Wales. Formed around 1890, they played in the FA Cup, Welsh Cup and The Combination.

The 1881 Welsh Cup Final, was the fourth in the football competition. It was contested by Druids and Newtown White Star at the Racecourse Ground, Wrexham.
