Wynne Richards (born 10 June 1950) is a former international lawn and indoor bowler who has represented England. [1]
Wynne was born in Merthyr Tydfil in Wales and began bowling at his father's club Troedyrhiw. He moved to London and represented England before winning the 1984 [2] and 1986 English National Championship singles [3] and the singles at the British Isles Bowls Championships in 1985. [4] [5] [6] He has also won the British Isles indoor singles title in 1985. [7]
His best achievement on the international stage came when he finished runner up to Hugh Duff in the 1988 World Indoor Bowls Championship. In addition he won two bronze medals in the triples and fours at the 1988 World Outdoor Bowls Championship.
He represented England at the 1994 Commonwealth Games in the fours event, at the 1994 Commonwealth Games in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. [8] [9] [10]
Robert Arthur Weale, is a Welsh international lawn and indoor bowls player. Weale is originally from Presteigne and was educated at John Beddoes School, but now lives in Hereford. In 2022, he was inducted into the Welsh Sports Hall of fame.
Anthony Allcock is an English bowls player. Born in Leicestershire, England, he is considered to be one of the leading bowlers of his generation and was twice world outdoor singles champion and three times World Indoor Singles Champion.
