Xenel is a diversified company based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. [1] Founded in 1973 [2] by the descendants of one of the oldest trading houses in the Middle East. House of Alireza, Xenel - a spelling variation for family patriarch, the late Zainal Alireza - grew by establishing multiple joint ventures with international companies and in the process building its own expertise in energy, petrochemicals, construction, infrastructure development, healthcare, industrial services, information technologies, logistics, real estate and global investing. The Haramain High Speed Railway, is a passenger railway serving the Mecca and Medina provinces in western Saudi Arabia. The 449.2-kilometre-long (279.1 mi) main line directly connects the Islamic holy cities of Mecca and Medina, via Jeddah and the King Abdullah Economic City. A 3.75-kilometre (2.33 mi) branch line provides connections to the King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah. It opened to the public on 11 October 2018.

Turki bin Abdullah Al Saud is the seventh son of King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia. He served as deputy governor and then, governor of Riyadh Province from 2013 to 29 January 2015. He was one of the 11 princes detained in November 2017 by Mohammad bin Salman as a part of his anti-corruption drive on accusations of corruption in the Riyadh Metro project and taking advantage of his influence to award contracts to his own companies. It was reported in August 2023 that after a trial he was sentenced to 17 years in prison.
