Yazdi cake is a cake native to Yazd in central Iran and is mostly used in Yazd Province itself for different ceremonies. [1]

Its main ingredients are egg, sugar, solid oil or butter, white flour, sodium citrate, sodium bicarbonate, baking powder, yogurt, milk, cardamom and if needed raisins and sliced up pistachio. [2]

Shah Khalil Allah III was the 45th Imam of the Nizari Ismaili Shia Islam community. Khalilullah Ali III was born in 1740 in the city of Kirman. His upbringing in Mahallat began under the care of his uncle, Mirza Muhammad Bakir at the age of two years, and got rudiments of his formal education at home. Mehdi Danesh-Yazdi is currently an Iranian attorney-at-law and a member of the Iranian Central Bar Association. He previously served as the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Administrative and Financial Affairs of Iran until his retirement in January 2018.
