Yazmin Aldwin Abdul Aziz [1] (born 10 September 2001) is a Filipino-Malaysian singer-songwriter. [2]

Education

Yazmin Aziz studied Speech and Drama at the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre. While a student she performed in a musical theater production. [3] She speaks English, Tagalog, and Bahasa Malaysia. [4] She completed her Diploma in Communication in May, 2021 and is currently studying Bachelor of Communication (Media Studies) (Hons) at HELP University.

Her early success in a talent competition lead to her pursuit of guitar and vocal performance. [5] She has since ranked within the top three in several, including a Silver in vocal performance at the 2020 Virtual World Championship of Performing Arts, [6] a Silver and Industry Awardee in vocal performance at the 2017 World Championship of Performing Arts in Long Beach, California, [7] the 2019 Karaoke World Championship in Tokyo, [8] Global Pinoy Idol, [9] and Hurr.tv's Bakat Ohsem Malaysia. [10]

Music career

Yazmin Aziz's first single Lihatlah was co-written with Vince Chong. She worked with M. Zukilfli on the lyrics, which she both sings and raps. The song was picked up by Warner Music for distribution. [5] [11]

Yazmin has had notable performances in Philippines and Malaysia including appearing on the national broadcast show ASAP Chillout [12] singing music she wrote, along with the beatbox performance of Michael Pacquiao and has also charted nationally with her single Cold Rainy Days and Soul Connection on the Hitz Met10. [13] Her other single “Paradise”, a collaboration with Filipino-American artist, Bobby Skyz, also charted on Rakita. [14]

Yazmin was also Hitz Artist of the Month: Homegrown for the month of November 2020. [15]

Yazmin has collaborated with Filipino-American artists JayR and Kris Lawrence, as well as Libyan producer Debani. [2]

Inspired by the pandemic, Yazmin released her latest song, Soul Connection [16]

Yazmin was also a contestant on TV3 (Malaysian TV channel)'s Lagu Cinta Kita Season 2, a reality TV duet competition. [17]

Yazmin’s most recent song releases are produced and composed by Malaysia’s award-winning composer, Sharon Paul. These include “Bosan” and “Crush” which are both featured on TV3’s drama, Cinta Amnesia. [18] Yazmin is also the singer of “Kita Rockstar”, the official theme song for Mobile Legends Professional League 2022. [19]

Yazmin is currently a contestant competing on Astro’s Big Stage Season 4, a reality TV singing competition. [20]

Unplugged is a live album by Malaysian recording artist Siti Nurhaliza. It was released in multiple formats, both physical and digital in Malaysia on 30 June 2015. The main live tracks were all taken from her 2015 unplugged concert at Istana Budaya on 7 April 2015. The CD, digital download and LP record versions of the album however come with three new bonus songs, "Menatap dalam Mimpi", "Engkau" ("You") and "Mikraj Cinta". All were recorded specifically to accompany the three audio releases.

The Malaysian Malay-language television mystery music game show I Can See Your Voice Malaysia premiered the inaugural first season on NTV7 on 4 August 2018.

"Titibo-Tibo" (transl. Boyish) is a song recorded by Filipino singer Moira Dela Torre for her debut studio album Malaya. It was composed by Libertine Amistoso and it is only interpreted by Moira. The song won at the competition Himig Handog 2017 at the end of November held on ASAP. It was released for digital download and streaming on February 18, 2018, through Star Music. This song also topped that charts for 2 weeks on the Philippine Hot 100.

"Mahal Na Kita" is a song recorded by Filipino boy band BGYO released on March 25, 2022, as the official soundtrack of iWantTFC's digital Philippine teen romantic comedy miniseries Bola Bola. The song was written and composed by BGYO member Akira Morishita and Jonathan Manalo. The song became part of Spotify's "Tatak Pinoy" playlist.
