Akinyemi Davids, (born 26 March 19, 1976) professionally known as Yemi Davids, is a Nigerian preacher, televangelist and author. He is the founder of Global Impact Church, headquartered in Lagos, Nigeria. [1] In August 2024, he became the Chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Lagos Chapter. [2] He is also the Convener and Host of Recharge Conference, an annual Christian gathering. [3]

Early life and education

Yemi Davids was born on 26 March 1976 to the family of Mr. and Mrs. Ojelade. He is an indigene of Ogun State, Nigeria, but spent most of his childhood in Amuwo Odofin, Lagos. He attended Abeokuta Grammar School for his secondary education.

He is a graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, where he graduated with a Bachelor's Degre e in Urban and Regional Planning. [4]

Ministry

Davids began his ministry journey as a member of the Scripture Union (SU) while a student at Abeokuta Grammar School. During his undergraduate years at Obafemi Awolowo University, he founded the Living Word Fellowship, a campus ministry network. The fellowship, which started at the OAU Campus, Ile-Ife, soon grew beyond the campus walls, spreading to other universities in Nigeria. [5]

In 2001, Davids founded Global Impact Church, which started in Surulere. [6] [7] In July 2019, Global Impact Church held the inaugural edition of the Recharge Conference, an annual Christian gathering in Nigeria. The conference ever since, has featured notable ministers and gospel artistes, including Bishop David Oyedepo, Joshua Selman, Emmanuel Iren, Sam Adeyemi, Sunmisola Agbebi, Tope Alabi , amongst others. [8] In September 2024, Yemi Davids was inaugurated as the Chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Lagos State Chapter. [9] [10]

Personal life

In 25 May 2003, Yemi Davids married Abimbola Davids. [11] Together, they have four daughters. [12]
