Yes Sir Boss! is an English, Bristol-based ska punk band, founded in 2007 at Falmouth University. [1] The band were signed under Stone'd Records and released an EP with the label, Desperation State, before self-releasing King in a Rocking Chair in 2014.
The band was founded by Matt Sellors, Luke potter, Tom First, Jehan Abdel-Malak, and Josh Stopford in 2007 while they were studying for their degrees. Their music has been described as reggae with teeth, energetic, and upbeat. [2] [3] An opening show featuring Joss Stone was cancelled in 2007 after discovery of back ticket sales. [4]
In 2012, Yes Sir Boss signed with Stone'd Records, an independent record label founded by Grammy winning soul singer Joss Stone and, later that year, released their first label titled Desperation State. [5] FMV Magazine gave the album 3 stars citing confidence and flair while criticising the album for being formulaic at times. [6] Helen Earnshaw of Female First gave the album a 4 out of 5 rating in a review that describes the music as a successful blend of Balkan Blues and indie rock. [7]
In 2013, the band released a collaborated single featuring Stone titled Mrs #1. [8] [9]
Yes Sir Boss toured music festivals in Europe and is scheduled to tour Germany, Netherlands, France, Austria, Switzerland and Scandinavia. A second album was released in April 2014 titled King in a Rocking Chair. [10]
Yes Sir Boss made a television appearance in 2013 on critically acclaimed live magazine entertainment show T.B.A. hosted by Chris Lloyd and Caroline De Moraes. To an entranced studio audience reception, the band performed their hit singles Not Guilty and Till You Get Yours from the seminal album Desperation State.

Asia are an English rock supergroup formed in London in 1981. The most commercially successful line-up was its original, which consisted of four members of different progressive rock bands who had enjoyed great success in the 1970s: lead vocalist and bassist John Wetton, guitarist Steve Howe (Yes), keyboardist Geoff Downes and drummer Carl Palmer. Their debut album, Asia, released in 1982, remains their bestselling album and went to number one in several countries. Billboard listed it as the top album in the U.S. in 1982. The lead single from the album, "Heat of the Moment", remains their top charting and best-known song, reaching the top 40 in over a dozen markets. Doom metal is an extreme subgenre of heavy metal music that typically uses slower tempos, low-tuned guitars and a much "thicker" or "heavier" sound than other heavy metal genres. Both the music and the lyrics are intended to evoke a sense of despair, dread, and impending doom. The genre is strongly influenced by the early work of Black Sabbath, who formed a prototype for doom metal. The Raveonettes are a Danish indie rock duo, consisting of Sune Rose Wagner on guitar, instruments and vocals, and Sharin Foo on bass, guitar and vocals. Their music is characterized by close two-part vocal harmonies inspired by The Everly Brothers coupled with hard-edged electric guitar overlaid with liberal doses of noise. Yankee Hotel Foxtrot is the fourth studio album by American rock band Wilco, first released on September 18, 2001. Recording sessions for the album began in late 2000. These sessions, which were documented for the film I Am Trying to Break Your Heart, were marred by conflicts including a switch in drummers and disagreements among the band members and engineers about songs. Despite this, the album would be completed in early 2001. The album showcased a more atmospheric and experimental sound than the band's previous work, and has been described as art rock and indie rock by music critics. It was the band's first album with drummer Glenn Kotche, and last with multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Jay Bennett.

Stone Sour is an American rock band formed in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1992. The band performed for five years before disbanding in 1997. They reunited in 2000 and since 2015, the group has consisted of Corey Taylor, Josh Rand (guitar), Christian Martucci (guitar), Johny Chow (bass) and Roy Mayorga (drums). Longtime members Joel Ekman and Shawn Economaki left the band in 2006 and 2011, respectively. Former lead guitarist Jim Root left in 2014. The band has been on an indefinite hiatus since 2020.

Black Roots are a roots reggae band from the St. Paul's area of Bristol, England, formed in 1979. They toured extensively in the UK and Europe in the 1980s and early 1990s releasing several albums and singles during that time before disappearing from the music scene for about ten years. Their comeback began when Soundicate/Makasound, a record label in France, released an album in 2004 and followed it up with another in 2007. In December 2010 they performed their first live show for some twenty years at the Trinity Hall in Bristol and since then they have been active once again, playing live dates and releasing a new album.

Stone'd Records is a British independent record label founded by Grammy winning soul singer Joss Stone after her split from longtime label EMI. Stone has stated that the label is to be "a safe haven where great artists are free to do what they do best, create real music without compromise." At the time the label was set up, it was announced that longtime music executive Brian Nelson had been appointed General Manager of Stone'd Records and that the first signing besides Stone herself were Bristol based ska punk band Yes Sir Boss!.

Water for Your Soul is the seventh studio album by English singer and songwriter Joss Stone, released on 31 July 2015 through her own label, Stone'd Records. It marks her first studio album of original material since LP1 (2011), following the release of the covers album The Soul Sessions Vol. 2 (2012). Musically, it incorporates reggae and hip hop with influences from many different genres, including soul, R&B, world, gospel, Latin and some Indian and Irish influence. The art design was made by Irish designer Aoife Hastings, who won a competition launched by Stone through social media which gave to fans the opportunity to draw her new album cover art.
