Yeyenwu is a cave in Hiw, the northernmost island of Vanuatu. It has some notable stalactite formations. [1]
In the local language, the name Yöyen Wu[jɵjənˈwʉ] translates as "the cave of Spirits".
Vanuatu, officially the Republic of Vanuatu, is an island country located in the South Pacific Ocean. Mekosuchus is a genus of extinct Australasian crocodiles within the subfamily Mekosuchinae. They are believed to have been made extinct by the arrival of humans on the South Pacific islands where they lived. The species of this genus were small in size, 2 m in maximum length, and terrestrial, making them the last surviving group of fully terrestrial crocodilians, leaving only semi-terrestrial species such as the Cuban crocodile and the dwarves Osteolaemus and Paleosuchus.

The Fijian mastiff bat, also known as the Fijian free-tailed bat, is a species of bat in the family Molossidae. It is found in Fiji and Vanuatu. In 2013, Bat Conservation International listed this species as one of the 35 species of its worldwide priority list of conservation. This species is currently listed as endangered and considered a species of special concern due to habitat fragmentation and cave disturbance. The Fijian free-tailed bat is endemic to Fiji and Vanuatu islands. This species was previously documented on the islands of Taveuni and Vanua Levu, current research indicates possible small fragmented populations inhabiting both islands. Only two insectivorous bats occupy Fiji, the Pacific sheath-tailed bat and the Fijian free-tailed bat. Both species consume night flying insects, foraging high above the canopy.
The long-tailed fruit bat, long-tailed blossom bat, or Fijian blossom bat is a species of megabat in the family Pteropodidae. It is found in Fiji and Vanuatu. They roost as large colonies in caves and forage in a range of lowland and montane habitats. It is threatened by exploitation and disturbance of its roosting caves, hunting, and tourism.
