Yio Chu Kang Secondary School is a co-educational government school in Ang Mo Kio, Singapore. It was first opened in 1966, and moved to its current site in 1982.
Yio Chu Kang Secondary began operations in 1966, and was set up in response to a request by Yio Chu Kang residents to Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew for a secondary school. [1] It was initially located at the tenth milestone of Yio Chu Kang Road, housed in a S$444,000 campus. [2] In 1982, the school moved to new premises along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 5 and the new premises were officially opened on 26 August 1983 by Lau Ping Sum, Member of Parliament for Yio Chu Kang. [3]
In January 2018, the school merged with former Chong Boon Secondary School. [4] The merged school is located at the current Yio Chu Kang campus. At the time of the merger, the principal was Mr Yeo Kuerk Heng. [5]
The North South line (NSL) is a high-capacity Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) line in Singapore, operated by SMRT Corporation. Coloured red on the rail map, the line is 45 kilometres (28 mi) long and serves 27 stations, 11 of which, between the Bishan and Marina South Pier stations, are underground. It runs from Jurong East station, located in Western Singapore, to Marina South Pier station in the Central Area, via Woodlands station in northern Singapore. The line operates for 19 hours a day, with headways of up to 2 to 3 minutes during peak hours and 5 to 8 minutes during off-peak hours. All the trains on the North South Line run with a six-car formation.

Deyi Secondary School is a co-educational government secondary school located in Ang Mo Kio, Singapore. Founded in January 1980, the school is remarked for its niche development in performing arts. An Aesthetics Development Programme (ADP) forms part of the niche development, which resulted the Direct School Admission (DSA) status. This allows students, both local and abroad, talented in performing arts to be admitted into the school. All lower secondary students have drama and dance modules woven into the curriculum. There is a Talent Development programme leading to accreditation for performing arts students in collaboration with reputable institutions.
Yio Chu Kang is a sub-urban area in the northeast of Singapore, with proximity to the Ang Mo Kio, Lentor, Seletar and Sengkang areas. Deriving its name from the Yio Chu Kang Village, it is still known for lush greenery and low-density housing with high-rise public housing in its southern fringes.

Fernvale is a neighbourhood of Sengkang New Town in Singapore. It is located between Sungei Punggol and the proposed Sengkang West Industrial Estate. The house numbers of the public apartment blocks in Fernvale begin with the number '4' (4xx). Fernvale is the newest neighbourhood in Sengkang Town to be completed by the Housing and Development Board (HDB). Seletar Mall, a new shopping amenity which houses Sengkang's first cineplex, is located within this neighbourhood. In 2017, A proposed community facility to be located next to Seletar Mall was announced, which houses a community club, childcare centre, hawker centre and wet market. The community facility which was slated to be ready by the second half of 2020, had stopped construction in April 2020 due to the COVID-19 measures set by the government. Construction of the facility has since continued in the second half of 2020 and was completed in 2022.
The Ang Mo Kio Group Representation Constituency is a five-member Group Representation Constituency (GRC) in the north eastern region of Singapore. The constituency encompasses the majority of Ang Mo Kio, Seletar Hills, the northern half of Serangoon North, a portion of northern Hougang and a portion of Fernvale. The western portion consists of parts of the Central Catchment Nature Reserve, while in the northeastern corner, it borders the Straits of Johor with two reclaimed islands, Pulau Punggol Barat and Pulau Punggol Timor. The northeast also includes the Sengkang Floating Wetland. This GRC has 5 wards: Teck Ghee, Cheng San- Seletar, Fernvale, Jalan Kayu and Ang Mo Kio-Hougang. The current MPs are Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Darryl David, Gan Thiam Poh, Ng Ling Ling and Nadia Ahmad Samdin from the People's Action Party (PAP).
The Yio Chu Kang Single Member Constituency is a single member constituency (SMC) in the north-eastern area, Singapore. The current Member of Parliament for the constituency is Yip Hon Weng of the People's Action Party (PAP).
Cheng San Group Representation Constituency is a now defunct Group Representation Constituency in the North-eastern region in Singapore. The GRC consisted of the eastern part of Ang Mo Kio, Jalan Kayu, Seletar Hills, part of Serangoon North, a large part of Hougang, Buangkok, and the whole of Sengkang New Town and Punggol New Town.
The North-East Region of Singapore is one of the five regions in the city-state. The region is the most densely populated and has the highest population among the five, with Sengkang being its most populous town as of 2020 and Seletar as the regional centre. Comprising 13,810 hectares, it includes seven planning areas and is largely a residential region with 217,120 homes. Housing largely consists of high-density HDB public housing estates, however private housing is also present in the region. As its name implies, it is located in the north-eastern part of Singapore.
