Ylber Hysa was a member of the Assembly of Kosovo. [1] He is a member of the Reformist Party ORA and a civil rights activist, [2] and for many years was the director of Kosovo Action for Civic Initiatives (KACI),a Kosovo Albanian non-governmental organization. [3]
In September 2007 he was ORA's nominee for the mayoralty of Pristina. [2]
From 2012 to 2018,he served as the Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo to North Macedonia. [4] A year later,he became the Ambassador of Kosovo to Montenegro. [4]
Ibrahim Rugova was a Kosovo-Albanian politician,scholar,and writer,who served as the President of the partially recognised Republic of Kosova,serving from 1992 to 2000 and as President of Kosovo from 2002 until his death in 2006. He oversaw a popular struggle for independence,advocating a peaceful resistance to Yugoslav rule and lobbying for U.S. and European support,especially during the Kosovo War.

Agim Çeku is an ethnic Albanian politician from Kosovo,the former minister of Security Forces in Kosovo and formerly the prime minister. Of military background,he was a commander of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) that fought against Serbian rule in 1998–1999,earlier being a commander in the Croatian War of Independence in the Croatian Army.

Koha Ditore is the leading daily newspaper in Kosovo. It is published by Koha Group and was founded and owned by politician Veton Surroi. His sister Flaka Surroi is now the publisher,following Veton Surroi's launch of his political career within the ORA reformist party. The newspaper initially published as a weekly magazine Koha,that ran from 1992 to 1994,becoming a leading weekly magazine in Kosovo. The initial team included new generation of opinion-makers such as Ylber Hysa,Baton Haxhiu,Dukagjin Gorani,Eqrem Basha,Shkelzen Maliqi,etc. The newspaper with the same name was published for the first time in 1997. Its current editor in chief is Agron Bajrami.
The political status of Kosovo,also known as the Kosovo question,is the subject of a long-running political and territorial dispute between the Serbian government and the Government of Kosovo,stemming from the breakup of Yugoslavia (1991–92) and the ensuing Kosovo War (1998–99). In 1999,the administration of the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija was handed on an interim basis to the United Nations under the terms of UNSCR 1244 which ended the Kosovo conflict of that year. That resolution reaffirmed the territorial integrity of Serbia over Kosovo but required the UN administration to promote the establishment of 'substantial autonomy and self-government' for Kosovo pending a 'final settlement' for negotiation between the parties.
The Constitution of Kosovo is the supreme law of the Republic of Kosovo,a territory of unresolved political status. Article four of the constitution establishes the rules and separate powers of the three branches of the government. The unicameral Assembly of the Republic exercises the legislative power,the executive branch led by the President and the Prime Minister which are responsible for implementing laws and the judicial system headed by the Supreme Court.

The 2008 Kosovo declaration of independence,which proclaimed the Republic of Kosovo to be an independent and sovereign state,was adopted at a meeting held on 17 February 2008 by 109 out of the 120 members of the Assembly of Kosovo,including the Prime Minister of Kosovo,Hashim Thaçi,and by the President of Kosovo,Fatmir Sejdiu. It was the second declaration of independence by Kosovo's Albanian-majority political institutions;the first was proclaimed on 7 September 1990.
Kosovo unilaterally self proclaimed independence from Serbia in 2008,a move which Serbia strongly rejects. Serbia has not recognized Kosovo as an independent state and continues to claim it as the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija. However,differences and disputes remain,while North Kosovo partially remains under Serbian influence. Initially there were no relations between the two;but in the following years there has been increased dialogue and cooperation between the two sides.
Isa Mustafa is a retired Kosovar politician. Mustafa was the mayor of Pristina from December 2007 to December 2013 and served as the prime minister of Kosovo between December 2014 and September 2017. He was the leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) between 2010 and 2021.
Tringa Hysa is a Kosovo-Albanian ballet dancer. In 2011,she represented Kosovo in the Eurovision Young Dancers,held in Oslo,Norway. Her dancing experience started in 2005 when she became a part of "Studio Rudina",a Ballet Course in Pristina.

Slaviša Ristić is a Serbian politician and a prominent figure in the Kosovo Serb community. He was for many years the president of Zubin Potok,a predominantly Serb municipality in northern Kosovo,and has served two terms in the National Assembly of Serbia.
The Kosovo Transitional Council,,was an advisory body that existed in Kosovo between July 1999 and November 2001 during the period that the United Nations was directly responsible for the governance of Kosovo. The council was replaced by the Assembly of Kosovo following elections held in November 2001.
Gazmend Muhaxheri is a politician in Kosovo. He served in the Assembly of Kosovo from 2004 to 2007 with the Reformist Party ORA and has been the mayor of Peja since 2013 as a member of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK).
Teuta Sahatqija is a politician and diplomat in Kosovo. She has served three terms in the Assembly of Kosovo,initially with the Reformist Party ORA,which she led from 2008 to 2010,and later with the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK). She was Consul General for the Republic of Kosovo in New York City from 2016 to 2020.
