Yogendra Sao

Yogendra Sao is an Indian politician from the Indian National Congress party. He is a former agriculture minister in the Government of Jharkhand, where under his leadership Jharkhand state got first rank for pulse seed production across India. [1] He was the representative from Barkagaon constituency in the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly during 2009-2014. Former minister fought for the right of displaced people and organised a series of protests by the residents of Barkagaon and Keredari Block under the leadership of Mr. Sao resulted in the raising of compensation rate payable to the owners of the land acquired by NTPC. The negotiations began at Rs. 3 lakh per acre and were finally settled at Rs. 15 lakh to Rs. 20 lakh per acre way back in 2015 through a tripartite agreement signed among the NTPC, State Government and the agitating villagers represented by Sao. [2]

Soon after the agreement, a series of cases were lodged against Sao and his wife pursuant to which he surrendered at a court in Ranchi, where he was remanded in custody with his conditional bail cancelled, [3] on multiple charges related to rioting and inciting of violence. [4] Out of the several cases that were registered, Sao has been acquitted in 11 cases but convicted in one. [5]

Loknath Mahato was a Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) in the state of Jharkhand, India, elected from constituency Barkagaon which is in the Hazaribagh district of the state. He was first elected in 1995. Since then he has been re-elected three times, representing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), one of the main national parties of India. He was one of the contenders in the 12 December 2019 Jharkhand state assembly elections from Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP). In 2014, Mahto had left BJP to join All Jharkhand Students Union, when denied ticket to contest from Hazaribagh Lok Sabha constituency. He participated in 2014 Lok Sabha elections and finished at third position.

Amit Khare is an Indian Administrative Service officer from Bihar/Jharkhand cadre and is currently serving as the advisor to prime minister Narendra Modi. He is noted for his role in bringing to light the Fodder scam, in which Rs. 940 crores were embezzled in Bihar over many years, and successive chief ministers Jagannath Mishra and Lalu Yadav have been imprisoned.
