The fourth and final season of the Yu Yu Hakusho anime series, known as the Saga of the Three Kings, was directed Noriyuki Abe and produced by Fuji Television, Yomiko Advertising and Studio Pierrot. The episodes were released in North America by Funimation. It adapts Yoshihiro Togashi's Yu Yu Hakusho manga series by Yoshihiro Togashi from the seventeenth through nineteenth volumes over eighteen episodes. The episodes cover Yusuke Urameshi's journey to Makai to meet his demon ancestor, and his attempts to resolve the unstable political situation in Makai.
The season initially ran from August 20 to December 17, 1994, on Fuji Television in Japan. The English episodes were shown from December 2005 to April 2006 on Cartoon Network's Toonami programming block. [1]
Three pieces of theme music are used for the episodes; one opening theme and two closing themes. The opening theme is "Hohoemi no Bakudan" (微笑みの爆弾, lit. "Smile Bomb") by Matsuko Mawatari. The closing themes are " Taiyō ga Mata Kagayaku Toki " (太陽がまた輝くとき, lit. "The Sun is Shining Again") by Hiro Takahashi, used for the first eight episodes, and Mawatari's "Daydream Generation" for all remaining episodes except episode 112, which uses "Hohoemi no Bakudan" as the closing theme.
Six DVD compilations, each containing three episodes of the saga, have been released by Funimation. [2] The first compilation was released on November 23, 2004, and the sixth compilation was released on July 19, 2005. [3] [4] A DVD collection box, containing all six compilations of the saga, was released by Funimation on March 7, 2006. [5] A Blu-ray compilation was released by Funimation on November 29, 2011.

The three men reveal they are present on the behalf of Raizen, one of the three kings of the Demon World. These three kings have been on a debate concerning the feasting of human bodies for over half a millennium. Yusuke tests his strength and agility against one of the men, Hokushin, who has the ability of elasticity. Hiei ponders his past of how he was raised by a group of bandits after being exiled. He recalls to when Shigure implanted the Jagan eye on his forehead as well as to when he trained with Shigure. Kurama travels to the territory of Yomi, Kurama's former second-in-command. Yomi tells of when the two were close friends a millennium ago, recalling their lives as bandits. He further remembers about when he was first struck by blindness. However, he finds out that Kurama was responsible for this, as he had hired an assassin for obvious reasons. 2 years after the tournament, the protagonists have found peace in their lives. Kazuma Kuwabara, Kurama, Keiko, and Shizuru Kuwabara pass by Genkai, meeting with Yukina, Botan, and Koenma as well. Genkai tells the group to protect her estate after she dies. They all decide to go to the beach, where Keiko yells for Yusuke at the beach. Yusuke suddenly appears, and is tackled by Keiko, who kisses him. Soon, the gang is seen splashing water at each other while the rest of the cast is shown before the end of the series. |
YuYu Hakusho is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yoshihiro Togashi. It tells the story of Yusuke Urameshi, a teenage delinquent who is struck and killed by a car while saving a child's life. After a number of tests presented to him by Koenma, the son of the ruler of the afterlife, Yusuke is revived and appointed the title of "Underworld Detective". With this title he must investigate various cases involving demons and apparitions in the Human World, with the manga gradually becoming more focused on martial arts battles and tournaments as it progresses. Togashi began creating YuYu Hakusho around November 1990, basing the series on his interests in the occult and horror films and an influence of Buddhist mythology.
Yoshihiro Togashi is a Japanese manga artist. He began drawing manga at an early age, before being recognized for his talent by the publishing company Shueisha while attending college. Togashi has authored several different manga series in different genres over the past three decades. He is best known for writing and illustrating the YuYu Hakusho (1990–1994) and Hunter × Hunter (1998–present) series, which are some of the best-selling manga series of all time. Togashi is married to Naoko Takeuchi, the author of Sailor Moon.
Yu Yu Hakusho: Dark Tournament is a video game for the PlayStation 2 (PS2) home game console. Based on the manga series YuYu Hakusho created by Yoshihiro Togashi, Dark Tournament follows the protagonist Yusuke Urameshi, a rebellious teenager who dies and is brought back to life in order to serve as a "Spirit Detective", solving cases involving apparitions and demons within the living world. The game covers the Dark Tournament story arc in which Yusuke and his allies are invited by a powerful demon named Toguro to participate in a deadly martial arts tournament.
Kurama is a fictional character from the manga YuYu Hakusho by Yoshihiro Togashi. A Fox Demon reborn as the human Shuichi Minamino in modern life,[ch. 21] he is introduced as a thief who stole a supernatural mirror to save his dying mother from death. Although Kurama is initially portrayed as a villain, he becomes a supporting character to aid the protagonist Yusuke Urameshi in the next arc. Across his fights are revealed events from his past life as a demon, into which he becomes able to transform for a limited time. The character has also appeared in the anime adaptation, the two movies, and other related works.
Yu Yu Hakusho: Spirit Detective is a video game for the Game Boy Advance (GBA) handheld console. Based on the manga and anime series YuYu Hakusho created by Yoshihiro Togashi, the plot follows the central character Yusuke Urameshi, a street-brawling, often truant teenager who dies trying to save a young boy's life. After meeting an incarnation of the Grim Reaper, Yusuke is given a second chance at life as a "Spirit Detective", a protector of the living world.

Level E is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yoshihiro Togashi. The plot follows the misadventures of alien Prince Baka Ki El Dogra, who crash-lands on Earth and forcibly begins living with high school student and baseball player Yukitaka Tsutsui. However, Prince Baka gradually realizes that he is targeted by aliens from other planets, and he uses his clever wits to somehow maintain world peace each time. Along with its short length and more realistic art style, the story of Level E focuses much more heavily on humor than Togashi's more famous series Yu Yu Hakusho and Hunter × Hunter.

The episodes were released in North America by Funimation. Like the rest of the series, it adapts Yoshihiro Togashi's Yu Yu Hakusho manga from the thirteenth through seventeenth volumes over twenty-eight episodes. The episodes follow Spirit Detective Yusuke Urameshi and his conflict with a former Spirit Detective, Shinobu Sensui, and the latter's desire to open the gateway to Makai.
There are two feature films based on the manga and anime series Yu Yu Hakusho by Yoshihiro Togashi. The films were produced by Studio Pierrot and released in Japan theatrically, the first Yu Yu Hakusho: The Movie in 1993 and the second Yu Yu Hakusho the Movie: Poltergeist Report in 1994. Before Funimation Entertainment acquired the rights to the anime in 2001, the films were dubbed and released in North America by two other companies. The first by Anime Works and the second by US Manga Corps, both released in 1998. However, the first film and the OVAs have since been acquired by Funimation and they produced a new English dub of the film using their original cast from the anime. These were released together as Yu Yu Hakusho: The Movie & Eizou Hakusho on December 13, 2011.
One Piece is a Japanese anime television series produced by Toei Animation that premiered on Fuji Television in October 1999. It is based on Eiichiro Oda's manga series of the same name. The story follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy, a boy whose body gained the properties of rubber after unintentionally eating a Devil Fruit. With his crew, named the Straw Hat Pirates, Luffy explores the Grand Line in search of the world's ultimate treasure known as the "One Piece" in order to become the next King of the Pirates.

"Hohoemi no Bakudan" is a 1992 single recorded by Japanese singer-songwriter Matsuko Mawatari. This is her second single from her second album Nice Unbalance. It reached the 45 position on the Japanese charts in 1992 and again in 2005, reaching number 187 for one week. "Hohoemi no Bakudan" in 2004 was, however, charted together with the song "Unbalance na Kiss wo Shite" by Hiro Takahashi. B-side of the single features a song from her first album Aitashi Gakunari Gatashi (逢いたし学なりがたし), "Homework ga Owaranai"".
The first season of the Naruto anime television series is directed by Hayato Date, and produced by Pierrot and TV Tokyo. Based on Masashi Kishimoto's manga series, the season follows Naruto Uzumaki living in the Hidden Leaf Village, determined to become the next Hokage and gain the respect of the villagers. The first season ran from October 3, 2002, to May 28, 2003, on TV Tokyo and its affiliates.
The fifteenth season of the One Piece anime television series was produced by Toei Animation, and directed by Hiroaki Miyamoto. The season was broadcast in Japan on Fuji Television on October 2, 2011 to December 23, 2012. Like the rest of the series, it follows the adventures of the reunion of Monkey D. Luffy and his Straw Hat Pirates after completing their training sessions two years later. The first of fourteen DVD compilations was released on December 5, 2012, and the last one was released on December 3, 2013.
