Yuhi Amuli is a film director, screenwriter and producer from Rwanda. [1]
After dropping out of law school in 2014, he attended several screenwriting and directing workshops worldwide; including Maisha Film Lab in 2014. [2] He is an alumnus of Berlinale Talents. [3]
His directorial debut feature film A Taste Of Our Land (2020) premiered at the Pan African Film Festival in Los Angeles and won the Jury Award for Best First Narrative Feature Film. [4] [5] The film won the African Movie Academy Awards (2020) for Best First Feature Film by a Director. [6]
Along with his own work in film, he served as the Public Relations Officer for the Mashariki African Film Festival in Kigali for a five-year period. [1]
Ramsey Nouah is a Nigerian actor and director. He won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role in 2010 for his performance in the movie The Figurine. He made his directorial debut with the film Living in Bondage: Breaking Free in 2019 and also went on to direct Nollywood classic Rattle Snake: The Ahanna Story which is a remake of Rattlesnake (1995).
Kunle Afolayan is a Nigerian actor, producer and director. He is widely credited for elevating the quality of Nollywood movies through larger budgets, shooting on 35mm, releasing in cinemas, and improving cliché Nollywood storylines. After starting his film career as an actor in the 1999 political drama Saworoide, Afolayan made his directorial debut in 2006 with Irapada, a Nigerian supernatural thriller, which won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Film in an African Language. His follow-on directing credits include The Figurine, Phone Swap, October 1, and Citation. October 1 was the winner of 16 major African movie awards in 2015 and the second highest grossing Nigerian film in Nigerian cinemas at the time of its release, a feat Afolayan was to repeat two years later with The CEO. In 2021, the director signed a three-picture deal with Netflix. Swallow, the screen adaption of Sefi Atta's book of the same name was the first to be released in October 2021, followed by Aníkúlápó, an epic Nigerian fantasy released in September 2022. Afolayan has described the work as a "Game of Thrones recreated in Nigeria but with a better representation of our culture”. Eleven days after its release, it was the #1 most-watched non-English Netflix original film.

He has appeared in Falling, Family Forever, Tinsel, and Aníkúlápó. He won the 7th edition of Gulder Ultimate Search in 2010. While studying at the New York Film Academy, he was simultaneously hosting an Internet TV Channel, Celebville 360. As a successful venture, he made an appearance at the Academy Awards nomination event in Beverly Hills, his first significant hosting appearance. By 2012, he was already cast in his first movie Heavy Beauty produced by Grace Edwin Okon and directed by Stanlee Ohikhuare. The series which initially aired as a single season of 13 episodes on Africa magic was released on Netflix as a single season with 7 episodes on Netflix on 16 September 2021. It was executively produced by the writer of the novel, Arese Ugwu and produced by Isoken Ogiemwonyi, Akintunde Marinho, Kemi Lala Akindoju. The film was released to cinemas in Africa on 23 September 2022. The film started showing simultaneously in several African countries including Nigeria, Cameroon, Benin Republic, Burkina Faso, Togo, Niger Republic, Senegal, Congo, Rwanda, Gabon, Guinea, and Madagascar.
