Yusuf Ismail Ali (Somali : Yuusuf Ismaaciil Cali) is a Somali jurist and lawyer who served as the Chief Justice of Somaliland from June 2011 until April 2015. [1] [2] [3]
The Dhulbahante is a Somali clan family, part of the Harti clan which itself belongs to the largest Somali clan-family — the Darod. In Somalia, the Dhulbahante primarily settle in the three northern regions of Sool, Sanaag, and Togdheer, but they also have a significant presences in Jubaland, particularly in the city of Kismayo. In Ethiopia, they settle in the Dollo Zone specifically in the woredas of Boh, Danot and Werder.
The Darod is a Somali clan. The forefather of this clan was Abdirahman bin Isma'il al-Jabarti, more commonly known as Darood. The Darod clan is the largest Somali clan in the Horn of Africa, with a wide traditional territory.
Mohamed Ali Samatar, also known as Ali Samatar was a Somali politician and lieutenant general. A senior member of the Supreme Revolutionary Council, he also served as the Prime Minister of Somalia from 1 February 1987 to 3 September 1990.

Harti, meaning "strong man", is a name used to denote a confederation of various Darod sub-clans of the Somali people. The major sub-clans of the Harti are the Dhulbahante, Majeerteen, Warsangali and Dishiishe, other minor Harti sub-clans are the Kaskiqabe, Geesaguule and Liibaangashe. In Somalia, the Harti are primarily settled in the state of puntland, whilst they have a significant presence in Jubaland. In Ethiopia, they inhabit the Dollo Zone and in kenya the clan has some presences in the North Eastern Province.
Yusuf Ali Kenadid was a Somali Sultan. He was the founder of the Sultanate of Hobyo in the 1870s. Along with Sultan Mohamoud Ali Shire of the Warsangali Sultanate and King Osman Mahamuud of the Majeerteen Sultanate, Yusuf Ali was one of the three prominent rulers of present-day Somalia at the turn of the 20th century. He was succeeded atop the throne by his son Ali Yusuf Kenadid. The army of Yusuf Ali Kenadid conquered the local Hawiye clan and established Sultanate of Hobyo in 1870s.
Haji Bashir Ismail Yusuf, commonly referred to as Haji Bashir, was a Somali politician. He was a prominent Somali Youth League (SYL) member and the first President of the Somali National Assembly during the Somali Republic's early civilian administration.
