Zachary L'Heureux, nicknamed Happy, is a Canadian professional ice hockey forward for the Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League (NHL).
L'Heureux was drafted by the Predators in the first round of the 2021 NHL entry draft with the 27th overall pick in the draft. [1] According to L'Heureux, he models his playing style after agitators such as Brad Marchand and Matthew Tkachuk. [2] On July 28, 2021, L'Heureux was signed to a three-year, entry-level contract with the Predators. [3] On October 22, 2024, L'Heureux made his NHL debut. [4] In a short period of time, L'Heureux quickly established himself as a fan favorite in Nashville. On November 17, 2024, L'Heureux scored his first career NHL goal against the Vancouver Canucks goalie Kevin Lankinen. [5]
L'Heureux has a history of disciplinary actions on multiple teams [6] [7] in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), [8] [9] American Hockey League (AHL), [10] [11] and NHL. [12] One of his suspensions from the QMJHL was for an assault on a fan with a hockey stick, for which he was suspended 10 games. [13] In 2023 he told a news outlet that he was working to avoid disciplinary action, [14] but was later suspended twice in the following season by the AHL. [10] [11] Not including his 2025 suspension from the NHL, he had been suspended a total of 11 times, resulting in him missing 39 games. [7]

I'm happy I'm done with it and I'm moving to the next step. So it's something I want to leave in the past. I want to move forward from it and not let it affect me going into next year.
