Although the album did not sell and was critically ignored, it has been descried as "a timeless masterpiece" and considered one of the finest releases by the two singers, whether working singly or together.

This was Ronstadt's final studio album before her retirement in 2011 and the revelation of her affliction with Parkinson's disease in 2013, leaving her unable to perform or sing.
Kamila Thompson, more commonly known as Kami Thompson, is a singer-songwriter based in London and New York. She has toured with Bonny Prince Billy, Teddy Thompson, Sean Lennon and others, as well as appearing with the family of Loudon Wainwright III at Carnegie Hall, She has also played at Hal Willner's "Came So Far for Beauty" Leonard Cohen tribute in Dublin. Her debut recording, an EP Bad Marriage, was released in June 2010. Her debut album Love Lies was released in the UK on Warner Music in 2011. Thompson also performs and records as part of the band The Rails with husband James Walbourne. The band's first EP Habit was released on Edwyn Collins' AED Records in early 2012, and their debut album Fair Warning was released on Island Records' pink label on 5 May 2014.

Bright Phoebus, fully titled Bright Phoebus: Songs by Lal & Mike Waterson, is a folk rock album by Lal and Mike Waterson. It was recorded in May 1972 with musical assistance from various well-known members of the British folk rock scene. The album failed to make an impact on its original release, but it was subsequently championed by many musicians, including Billy Bragg, Arcade Fire, Richard Hawley and Jarvis Cocker. For years the album was difficult to obtain. In 2017, a re-release of Bright Phoebus was announced and shortly thereafter pulled from the market for legal reasons.
The Rails is an English folk rock duo from London, England, composed of husband and wife James Walbourne and Kami Thompson. Thompson and Walbourne first met during the recording sessions for Versatile Heart by Thompson's mother Linda Thompson in 2007. The band signed to Island Records in January 2014 and released their debut album on 5 May 2014 on the label's Pink Label imprint, the first band to do so since the 1970s.

Ship to Shore is a 2024 studio album by British folk rock musician Richard Thompson, released on New West Records. It has received positive reviews from critics. The album was launched with a band tour featuring Taras Prodaniuk on bass, Thompson's grandson Zak Hobbs on guitar and mandolin, Zara Phillips on vocals and acoustic guitar and Dave Mattacks on drums. The album's title comes from ship-to-shore radio that Thompson listened to as a boy.
Proxy Music is an album of songs composed by British singer Linda Thompson performed by various artists, released on 21 June 2024 through Storysound Records. The album includes new songs written by Thompson performed by musicians including her daughter Kami, her son Teddy, and her ex-husband Richard Thompson, due to Linda's spasmodic dysphonia, which prevents her from being able to sing. It received positive reviews from critics.
