Born at Park Royal Hospital in London, Zalon Thompson, son of reggae singer Dr Alimantado and brother of fellow backing vocalist Heshima. [1] Zalon attended Furness Primary School and then went to Hampstead School in Cricklewood to advance his education.
Zalon Thompson went to Hammersmith and West London College and studied Popular Music which covered all bases of the music industry and learned to play drums and guitar. [2]
Zalon and his brother Heshima, then aged 16 and 20, began touring the UK live circuit with the American soul singer Freddie Lee as part of his production shows in 2003. Zalon has attributed his performance technique to these years of live performance with Freddie Lee. A few years later, promoter Patrick Alan approached Zalon to sing backing vocals and duets with his guests at his regular Monday night spot at the 10 Rooms, and through this Zalon met Amy Winehouse.
Winehouse asked Zalon to tour with her for her Back to Black album which was only scheduled to last for 3 months, but the tour was so successful they ended up touring for a further three years and collected five Grammy Awards. Zalon went on to feature on the deluxe version of the platinum selling album, and I Told You I Was Trouble DVD, with the songs "Hey Little Rich Girl", "Monkey Man" and "You're Wondering Now". He also sang backing vocals on Winehouse's track "He Can Only Hold Her" which appeared on Back to Black and the BBC Radio One session, "Cupid".
Zalon performs Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell's hit "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" with Dionne Bromfield on her debut album.
Producer Mark Ronson has teamed up with Zalon for his debut album, which is yet to be named and released though the track Attention [3] will be on it. Zalon is expected to join Winehouse's Lioness record label. [1]

Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings were an American funk and soul band signed to Daptone Records. They were part of a revival movement of mid-1960s to mid-1970s style funk and soul music. They released their debut album Dap Dippin' in 2002, the first of seven studio albums. Their 2014 album Give the People What They Want was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best R&B Album. Following Sharon Jones' death in 2016, the band released the posthumous album Soul of a Woman in 2017 and a compilation of cover songs in 2020.

In 2009, Hill was chosen as Jackson's duet partner for the song "I Just Can't Stop Loving You" during his This Is It rehearsals. Amy is a 2015 British documentary film directed by Asif Kapadia and produced by James Gay-Rees. The film covers British singer-songwriter Amy Winehouse's life and her struggle with substance abuse, both before and after her career blossomed, and which eventually caused her death. In February 2015, a teaser trailer based on the life of Winehouse debuted at a pre-Grammys event. David Joseph, CEO of Universal Music UK, announced that the documentary titled Amy would be released later that year. He further stated: "About two years ago we decided to make a movie about her—her career and her life. It's a very complicated and tender movie. It tackles lots of things about family and media, fame, addiction, but most importantly, it captures the very heart of what she was about, which is an amazing person and a true musical genius."
