Zena Petros was a king of the Zagwe Dynasty who reigned from the 970s until he was killed in 1013, when he was succeeded by Tatadim. Zena Petros had also led a campaign against the Kingdom of Damot in c.970 C.E. because they refused to pay tribute, though, Zena Petros failed on this campaign against Damot. [1]
Dʿmt was a kingdom located in northern Ethiopia which existed between the 10th and 5th centuries BC. Few inscriptions by or about this kingdom survive and very little archaeological work has taken place. As a result, it is not known whether Dʿmt ended as a civilization before the Kingdom of Aksum's early stages, evolved into the Aksumite state, or was one of the smaller states united in the Kingdom of Aksum possibly around 150 BC.

It is a Part of the Wolayita Zone located in the Great Rift Valley, Damot Weyde is bordered on the south by Hobicha, on the west by Sodo Zuria, on the northwest by Damot Gale, on the north and northeast by Diguna Fango wordas. The administrative center of the woreda is Bedessa.

The Kingdom of Damot was a medieval kingdom in what is now western Ethiopia. The territory was positioned below the Blue Nile. It was a powerful state that forced the Sultanate of Showa to pay tributes. It also annihilated the armies of the Zagwe dynasty that were sent to subdue its territory. Damot conquered several Muslim and Christian territories. The Muslim state Showa and the new Christian state under Yekuno Amlak formed an alliance to counter the influence of Damot in the region.

It is a Part of the Wolayita Zone located in the Great Rift Valley, Diguna Fango is bordered on the southwest by Damot Weyde, on the west by Damot Gale, on the north by the Hadiya Zone, on the northeast by the Oromia Region, and on the east by Bilate river, which separates it from Sidama Region. The administrative center of the woreda is Bitena Town; the other major towns in the woreda include Dimtu, Kercheche, and Edo. Diguna Fango was separated from Damot Weyde woreda in 1998 E. C.

Presidential elections were held in Colombia on 27 May 2018. As no candidate received a majority of the vote, the second round of voting was held on 17 June. Incumbent president Juan Manuel Santos was ineligible to seek a third term. Iván Duque, a senator, defeated Gustavo Petro, former mayor of Bogotá, in the second round. Duque's victory made him one of the youngest individuals elected to the presidency, aged 42. His running mate, Marta Lucía Ramírez, was the first woman elected to the vice presidency in Colombian history.
Ennarea, also known as E(n)narya or In(n)arya, was a kingdom in the Gibe region in what is now western Ethiopia. It became independent from the kingdom of Damot in the 14th century and would be the most powerful kingdom in the region until its decline in the 17th century. Being located on the southwestern periphery of the Ethiopian Empire, Ennarea was its tributary throughout much of its history, supplying the emperor with gold and slaves. The culmination of this relationship was the Christianization of the Ennarean elite in the late 1580s. From the late 16th century the kingdom came under increasing pressure by the Oromo, who finally conquered Ennarea in around 1710.

Gustavo Petro, a senator, former Mayor of Bogota, and runner-up in the 2018 election, defeated Rodolfo Hernández Suárez, former Mayor of Bucaramanga, in the runoff election. Petro's victory made him the first left-wing candidate to be elected president of Colombia, and his running mate, Francia Márquez, is the first Afro-Colombian elected to the vice-presidency, as well as the second female vice-president overall.
Menelik's Invasions, also known as the Agar Maqnat were a series of wars and conquests carried out by Menelik II of Shewa to expand the Ethiopian Empire.
Damot was a historical region located in western Ethiopia. The region was situated south of Gojjam and covered most of Ethiopia's Welega Province. Until the fourteenth century it was ruled by its own independent kingdom, before its conquest by the Ethiopian Emperor Amda Seyon I, after which it would serve as an important province within the Ethiopian Empire during the medieval period.
