The Malaysian Siamese are an ethnicity or community who principally resides in Peninsular Malaysia which is a relatively homogeneous cultural region to Southern Burma and Southern Thailand but was separated by the Anglo-Siamese Treaty of 1909 between the United Kingdom and the Kingdom of Siam. The treaty established the modern Malaysia-Thailand Border which starts from Golok River in Kelantan and ends at Padang Besar in Perlis. Before this, there was a mass migration of Siamese from Nakhon Si Thammarat to the northern Malay states seeking refuge following a civil war waged by Taksin of Thonburi against Nakhon ruler Nu in 1769.

Kedahan Malays or commonly known as Orang Utara ('Northerners'), are a sub-group of Malays native to northern Malay Peninsula in areas of both current and historical area of Kedah. They are among the oldest ethnic groups in the Malay peninsula with a history dating back 2,800 years as proven by the discovery of sites in Bujang Valley and historical documents from India, China and Arabia. Kedahan Malays are one of the largest Malay sub-groups in Malaysia, comprising at least 15% of the total Malaysian Malay population including those with Kedahan ancestry.
Johari bin Abdul is a Malaysian politician who has served as the 11th Speaker of the Dewan Rakyat since December 2022. He served as the State Leader of the Opposition of Kedah from October 2022 and Member of the Kedah State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Gurun from May 2018 to his resignations in December 2022, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Sungai Petani from March 2008 and Chairman of the Pakatan Harapan Backbenchers Club (PHBBC) from August 2018 to November 2022 respectively. He is a member of the People's Justice Party (PKR), a component party of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition.
Paduka Sri Sultan Mudzaffar Shah I, styled Phra Ong Mahawangsa was a legendary king and was said to be the first Sultan of Kedah, according to the Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa. He was the last Hindu King of Kedah, styled Sri Paduka Maharaja Durbar Raja before his accession. After his conversion to Islam, he later became the founder of the Kedah Sultanate.

Miss Malaysia Universe 1978, the 12th edition of the Miss Universe Malaysia, was held on 18 May 1978 at the Merlin Hotel, Penang. Yasmin Yusoff of Kuala Lumpur was crowned by the outgoing titleholder, Leong Li Ping of Penang at the end of the event. She then represented Malaysia at the Miss Universe 1978 pageant in Mexico City, Mexico.

Irene Wong of Pahang was crowned by the outgoing titleholder, Yasmin Yusoff of Kuala Lumpur at the end of the event. She then represented Malaysia at the Miss Universe 1979 pageant in Perth, Australia.
Muhammad Akhyar bin Abdul Rashid, better known as Akhyar Rashid, is a Malaysian professional footballer who plays either as a winger or striker for Malaysia Super League club Terengganu, on loan from Johor Darul Ta'zim, and the Malaysia national team.

Setul, officially the Kingdom of Setul Mambang Segara was a Malay kingdom founded in the northern coast of the Malay Peninsula. The state was established in 1808 in the wake of the partition between the rulers of the royal house of Kedah. The partition witnessed the territory being seceded to the cadet branch of the royal family. The sovereignty of the kingdom effectively ended in 1916, following the dissolution by the Siamese government. Its borders were largely inherited to its successive province, the present-day Satun, Thailand.
Tan Sri Abdul Hamid bin Othman was a minister in the Prime Minister's Department. He was appointed in 2001 as a Religious Advisor to the then Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad and later as Religious Advisor to Prime Minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi from 2005 to 2009. Several parties recognized him as UMNO scholar and made a winding-up speech during the UMNO General Assembly.

She has held the position of Member of the Dewan Negara (Senator) since 30 May 2014 until 29 May 2017 and 16 November 2017 until 15 November 2020. He has also held positions as a Member of the advisory board of the Malaysian Malay Traders and Entrepreneurs Association, Patron of Public Transport Cooperative Kuala Muda Berhad and Member of the Rubber Industry Smallholders Development Authority (RISDA).
Mohamad Yusoff bin Zakaria is a Malaysian politician who has served as Member of the Kedah State Executive Council (EXCO) in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) state administration under Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor since November 2022 and Member of the Kedah State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Kuala Nerang since May 2018. He is a member of the Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS), a component party of the PN coalitions and GS coalitions.
