Zilveren Nipkowschijf (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈzɪlvərə(n)ˈnɪpkɔfsxɛif] ; "Silver Nipkow Disk", named for German television pioneer Paul Gottlieb Nipkow) is a Dutch television and media award that has been given out since 1961 by a selection of Dutch media journalists and critics to the best show of the year. The three founding critics were Henk Schaafsma of NRC Handelsblad, Hans Keller of Volkskrant, and Han G. Hoekstra of Het Parool. In 1975, Stichting Nipkow was founded and became the official foundation to award the Zilveren Nipkow. Tom Smeets of De Gelderlander has been the chairman of the foundation since its foundation. In 1996, the foundation started awarding the Zilveren Reissmicrofoon to the best Dutch radio show. [1] In 2003, the foundation introduced a new award for best multimedia presentation, which was named the Zilveren Prichettprijs (named after Harry Prichett). [1]

Van Kooten en De Bie were a Dutch comedy duo formed by Kees van Kooten and Wim de Bie. They started performing together in 1963. They started off as radio comedians, but gained more prominence from 1966 on by working for television. In 1974 they began a weekly TV sketch show on Sunday evenings, "Het Simplisties Verbond", broadcast on VPRO, which continued for three decades under various titles, while remaining the same concept, until finally coming to a close in 1998. Despite the varying titles of their TV show the general audience always referred to them as Van Kooten en De Bie.
The Tegenpartij was a Dutch fictional political party, founded in 1979 by the Dutch comedic duo Van Kooten en De Bie. They played the characters Jacobse and Van Es, two vrije jongens, played by respectively Kees van Kooten and Wim de Bie. Jacobse and Van Es were originally two scoundrels, who eventually founded their own political party: The Tegenpartij. They described it as the party for all Dutchmen who can no longer stand the Netherlands.

Michaël Henricus Gertrudis (Michiel) van Kempen is a Dutch writer, art historian and literary critic. He has written novels, short stories, essays, travel literature and scenarios. He was the compiler of a huge range of anthologies of Dutch-Caribbean literature and wrote an extensive history of the literature of Suriname, in two volumes.
Cornelis Reinier "Kees" van Kooten is a Dutch comedian, television actor, and writer. He formed the duo Van Kooten & De Bie with Wim de Bie from 1972 to 1998.
Guus Kuijer is a Dutch author. He wrote books for children and adults, and is best known for the Madelief series of children's books. For his career contribution to "children's and young adult literature in the broadest sense" he won the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award from the Swedish Arts Council in 2012, the biggest prize in children's literature. As a children's writer he was one of five finalists for the biennial, international Hans Christian Andersen Award in 2008.
The Gouden Ganzenveer is a Dutch cultural award initiated in 1955, given annually to a person or organization of great significance to the written and printed word. Recipients are selected by an academy of people from the cultural, political, scientific, and corporate world. Members meet once a year; the winner is announced each year in January and honored in April. From 1995 to 1998 the award was granted by the Koninklijke Nederlandse Uitgeversbond, the Royal Dutch Organization of Publishers; since 2000, it is granted by a separate organization.

The award is organised by the Collectieve Propaganda van het Nederlandse Boek. Starting in 2022, instead of Flags and Pennants, Bronze Griffels and Bronze Brushes will be awarded. The name change is intended to underscore the purpose of these awards: to highlight the best children's books.

Euphrasius Franciscus Hendricus "Fra" Paalman, was a Dutch graphic designer, visual artist and art teacher, who lived and worked in Hengelo (Overijssel), the Netherlands. Paalman designed, among other, book covers, brochures, posters, vignettes and corporate identities. As a graphic artist he made autonomous work too, especially etchings, screen prints and monotypes. His oeuvre also includes photographs, collages, sculptures, drawings and paintings, which he focused more on from the 1990s onwards. This work encompasses representations of everyday things, portraits of people, animals and landscapes, visions of the city and commentary on political events, as well as constructivist compositions and abstract images. The work often has a somewhat alienating element. As a teacher, Paalman has passed on his vision, knowledge and skills to countless people, young and old, through educational programs, courses and workshops.
