Zion Evrony is a retired Israeli diplomat,formerly serving as Israel's ambassador to Ireland and the Holy See.
Evrony was born in Tehran,Iran. Shortly after his birth his family migrated to the recently formed Israeli state,where he lived in a Ma'abarot camp. [1] He later studied at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in sociology and political science,a master's in Business Administration,and a Ph.D. in international relations.
Evrony serves as an associate professor in the Center for Jewish Civilization at Georgetown University. [2] In addition he serves as adjunct professor at the Catholic University of America [3] and Howard University. He was previously a visiting lecturer at Tel Aviv University and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
The Hebrew University of Jerusalem is a public research university based in Jerusalem,Israel. Co-founded by Albert Einstein and Chaim Weizmann in July 1918,the public university officially opened in April 1925. It is the second-oldest Israeli university,having been founded 30 years before the establishment of the State of Israel but six years after the older Technion university. Mount Zion is a hill in Jerusalem,located just outside the walls of the Old City. The term Mount Zion has been used in the Hebrew Bible first for the City of David and later for the Temple Mount,but its meaning has shifted and it is now used as the name of ancient Jerusalem's Western Hill. In a wider sense,the term Zion is also used for the entire Land of Israel.

Haym Soloveitchik is an American Modern Orthodox rabbi and historian. He is the only son of Rabbi Joseph B. Soloveitchik. He graduated from the Maimonides School which his father founded in Brookline,Massachusetts and then received his B.A. degree from Harvard College in 1958 with a major in History. After two years of post-graduate study at Harvard,he moved to Israel and began his studies toward an M.A. and PhD at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem,under the historian Professor Jacob Katz. He wrote his Master's thesis on the Halakha of gentile wine in medieval Germany. His doctorate,which he received in 1972,concentrated on laws of pawnbroking and usury. He is known to many as Dr. Gra"ch,after his great-grandfather for whom he is named,Rabbi Chaim Soloveitchik,who was known as the Gra"ch.

The return to Zion is an event recorded in Ezra–Nehemiah of the Hebrew Bible,in which the Jews of the Kingdom of Judah—subjugated by the Neo-Babylonian Empire—were freed from the Babylonian captivity following the Persian conquest of Babylon. In 539 BCE,the Persian king Cyrus the Great issued the Edict of Cyrus allowing the Jews to return to Jerusalem and the Land of Judah,which was made a self-governing Jewish province under the new Persian Empire.

Rabbi Doctor Eugene B. Korn is a lecturer,scholar and educator. He lives in Jerusalem and was formerly Academic Director of the Center for Jewish-Christian Understanding and Cooperation (CJCUC) in Jerusalem. He was also co-director of its Institute for Theological Inquiry. Korn was the founding editor of Meorot:A Forum for Modern Orthodox Discourse,based at Yeshivat Chovevei Torah in New York City.

Mordechay Lewy is an Israeli diplomat who served as Israel's Ambassador to the Holy See between 12 May 2008 and 31 July 2012. Twice married and the father of three,Lewy joined the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1975. His nomination as Ambassador to the Holy See in May 2008 followed postings to Bonn,Stockholm and Berlin,where he served as the first Consul General after the Unification from 1991 to 1994. In 2000 he returned there as the embassy DCM. His first ambassadorial assignment was to Bangkok and Phnom Penh during the years 1994 to 1997. Lewy also served as the Jerusalem Municipality Mayor's Special Advisor for Religious Communities in a 4-year assignment between 2004 and 2008.
The Center for Jewish–Christian Understanding and Cooperation (CJCUC) is an educational institution at which Christians who tour Israel can study the Hebrew Bible with Orthodox rabbis and learn about the Hebraic roots of Christianity. The center was established in Efrat in 2008 by Rabbi Dr. Shlomo Riskin,who has been described as "the most prominent rabbinic spokesperson to Christian Zionists". CJCUC partners with major Christian interfaith organizations such as Christians United for Israel and the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem. Since Riskin's retirement as president of Ohr Torah Stone in 2018,the overseeing of all CJCUC activities has been turned over to David Nekrutman who has served as the center's chief director since its inception.
