Overijssel is a province of the Netherlands located in the eastern part of the country. The province's name translates to "across the IJssel", from the perspective of the Episcopal principality of Utrecht by which it was held until 1528. The capital city of Overijssel is Zwolle and the largest city is Enschede. The province had a population of 1,162,215 as of November 2019. The land mostly consists of grasslands and some forests ; it also borders a small part of the IJsselmeer to the west.
Zwolle is a city and municipality in the Northeastern Netherlands. It is the capital of the province of Overijssel and the province's second-largest municipality, after Enschede, and has a population of 130,592 as of 1 December 2021. Zwolle borders the province of Gelderland and is east of the River IJssel.
The Lelystad–Zwolle railway, also known as the Hanzelijn, is a Dutch railway line, finished in 2012. It connects Lelystad, capital of the province of Flevoland, with Zwolle, capital of the neighbouring province of Overijssel, and provides a direct rail link between Flevoland and the north-east of the Netherlands.
The Weesp–Lelystad railway, also known as Flevolijn, is a railway in the Netherlands operated by Nederlandse Spoorwegen and owned by ProRail. The line runs from Weesp, North Holland to Lelystad, capital of the neighbouring province of Flevoland. It currently has seven stations, these are : Almere Poort, Almere Muziekwijk, Almere Centrum, Almere Parkwijk, Almere Buiten, Almere Oostvaarders and Lelystad Centrum. Almere Strand was closed in 2012 and Lelystad Zuid is due to open before 2025.

Nijverdal is a railway station located in Nijverdal, the Netherlands. The station opened on 1 January 1881 and is located on the Zwolle–Almelo railway. Train services are operated by Keolis Nederland. Previously, this station was called Hellendoorn-Nijverdal(1881-1925) and Nijverdal Noord (1925-1935), to differentiate it from the then main Nijverdal station, located on the former Neede-Hellendoorn railway (1910-1935).

Nijverdal West was a temporary railway station located in Nijverdal, the Netherlands. The station was located on the Zwolle–Almelo railway and opened on 14 December 2009. It closed on 3 March 2013. The services were operated by Nederlandse Spoorwegen.
Kampen Zuid is a railway station in the Netherlands, located on the Lelystad–Zwolle railway, also known as the Hanzelijn. The station is located in the south of Kampen, Overijssel.
High-speed rail service in the Netherlands started at 13 December 2009 with the dedicated HSL-Zuid line that connects the Randstad via Brussels to the European high-speed rail network. In later years improved traditional rail sections were added to the high-speed network. Proposals for more dedicated high-speed lines were deemed too costly; plans for the HSL-Oost to Germany were mothballed and instead of the Zuiderzeelijn the less ambitious Hanzelijn was built to enable future high-speed service between the northern provinces and the Randstad.
The Kamperlijntje is a railway in the Netherlands running since 10 May 1865 between the cities of Zwolle and Kampen in the province Overijssel. The most northern part of the Utrecht–Kampen railway (Centraalspoorweg), the 12 km long section now has three stations, two are its termini: Zwolle and Kampen, and an intermediate station, Zwolle Stadshagen. In the past, it had two more stations: Zwolle Veerallee and Mastenbroek. The journey between Zwolle and Kampen takes about ten minutes.
