Below are the squads for the 1938 FIFA World Cup final tournament in France.

Contents

Hungary and Switzerland were the only teams who had players from foreign clubs. Both of such players represented French clubs.

Nine selected players by Germany came from the qualified but not participating Austria due to Anschluss.

Rosters include reserves, alternates, and preselected players that may have participated in qualifiers and/or pre-tournament friendlies but not in the finals themselves.

The 1938 FIFA World Cup was the third edition of the World Cup, the quadrennial international football championship for senior men's national teams and was held in France from 4 June until 19 June 1938. Italy defended its title in the final, beating Hungary 4–2. Italy's 1934 and 1938 teams hold the distinction of being the only men's national team to win the World Cup multiple times under the same coach, Vittorio Pozzo. It would be the last World Cup until 1950; the 1942 and 1946 World Cups were cancelled due to World War II.

The 1934 FIFA World Cup was an international football tournament that was held in Italy from 27 May to 10 June 1934. Below are the squads registered by the 16 national teams involved in the tournament.

Otto Nerz was a German footballer player and manager and the first head coach of the Germany national team between 1923 and 1936.

Below are the squads for the 1954 FIFA World Cup final tournament in Switzerland. Each team had to submit a squad of 22 players. All the teams included three goalkeepers, except England, Mexico, Scotland, South Korea, Uruguay and Yugoslavia, who only named two. This was the first World Cup for which the players were assigned squad numbers.

Karl Rappan was an Austrian footballer and coach. He played and managed mostly in Switzerland, where he won multiple titles. He had four tenures as coach of the Switzerland national team, which he managed in three World Cups, and is the all-time leader in matches won as coach of the Swiss team. He introduced a major football strategy known as the "bolt", which gave origin to the catenaccio system. He also helped create the UEFA Intertoto Cup.

The Germany national football team manager is a position created in 1926 and first held by Otto Nerz. The German team began playing matches in 1908, but for 18 years it had no manager. Instead a selection committee chose the team.

This is a record of Austria's results at the FIFA World Cup. Austria has played at seven World Cup finals tournaments, most recently in 1998. They also qualified for the tournament in 1938, but withdrew after the annexation of Austria by the Third Reich, with some of its team members joining the German team.

The Soviet Union Olympic football team was the national Olympic football team of the Soviet Union from 1952 to 1990. Until 1980 it was rather the Soviet Union national football B team. The team participated in all of the qualification football tournaments for Summer Olympics. Until 1992, when age restrictions were officially introduced, the Soviet Union used the first team both in qualification tournaments and finals except for 1960 and 1964 when the second national team was used for the qualification tournaments.

The final tournament of the 1938 FIFA World Cup was a single-elimination tournament involving the 16 teams which qualified for the tournament. The tournament began with the round of 16 on 4 June and concluded with the final on 19 June 1938. Italy won the final 4–2 for their second World Cup title.

The 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup was an international women's association football tournament held in France from 7 June until 7 July 2019. The 24 national teams involved in the tournament were required to register a squad of 23 players, including three goalkeepers. Only players in these squads were eligible to take part in the tournament.

The 2022 FIFA World Cup was an international football tournament held in Qatar from 20 November to 18 December 2022. The 32 national teams involved in the tournament were required to register a squad of up to 26 players, including three goalkeepers. Only players in these squads were eligible to take part in the tournament.

The 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup was an international women's association football tournament held in Australia and New Zealand from 20 July until 20 August 2023. The 32 national teams involved in the tournament were required to register a squad of 23 players, including three goalkeepers. Only players in these squads were eligible to take part in the tournament.
