The 2018 edition of the European Men's and Women's Team Badminton Championships was held in Kazan, Russia, from 13 to 18 February 2018. This tournament also served as European qualification for the 2018 Thomas & Uber Cup. [1]

Tournament

The 2018 European Men's and Women's Team Badminton Championships officially crowned the best male and female national teams in Europe and at the same time worked as the European qualification event towards the 2018 Thomas & Uber Cup finals. 53 teams consisting of 29 men's team and 24 women's team entered the tournament. [2]

Venue

This tournament was held at Gymnastics Center in Kazan, Russia. [3]

Seeds

The defending Champions, Denmark, were top seeded for both men's and women's team, while the host country Russia were seeded four. [4]

Draw

The draw was held on 5 December 2017, at the Badminton Europe office in Brøndby, Denmark. The men's team group stage consisted of six groups with four teams in each and one group with five teams. The women's team group stage consisted of six groups with four teams in each. [5]

Badminton Europe (BE) is the governing body of badminton in Europe. It is one of the five continental bodies under the flag of the Badminton World Federation (BWF). It has 53 member associations and 1 associate member. It was founded on 27 September 1967 in Frankfurt, Germany.

As a member of FIFA and UEFA, the Montenegro national football team has been playing official matches since March 2007. Montenegro plays in the qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup and UEFA European Championship, as well as partaking in the UEFA Nations League. Apart from that, the team participates in friendly matches.

The 2015 2014–2016 CEV Beach Volleyball Continental Cup were a beach volleyball double-gender event. Teams were split into groups of four, where an elimination bracket determined the 3 teams to advance to the next stage from the sub-zones. The Slovenia national football team represents Slovenia in association football and is controlled by the Football Association of Slovenia, the governing body for football in Slovenia. It competes as a member of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), which encompasses the countries of Europe. Slovenia joined UEFA and the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) in 1992, a year after the country gained independence from the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.

The 2018 Thomas Cup qualification process is a series of tournaments organised by the five BWF confederations to decide 14 of the 16 teams which will play in the 2018 Thomas Cup, with Thailand qualifying automatically as hosts, and Denmark qualifying automatically as trophy holder.

The group stage of the 2007 Sudirman Cup was the first stage of the competition. It was held at Scotstoun Stadium in Glasgow, Scotland, from 11 to 14 June.

The EuroBasket Women 2023 qualification was held from November 2021 to February 2023 to decide the 14 teams to join the co-hosts Israel and Slovenia. It featured 38 teams split in ten groups of three or four teams. The ten group winners and the four best second-ranked teams qualified for the final tournament.

The EuroBasket 2025 qualification is a basketball competition that is being played from November 2021 to February 2025, to determine the 20 FIBA Europe member nations who will join the automatically qualified co-hosts Latvia, Cyprus, Finland and Poland at the EuroBasket 2025 finals tournament.

The teams event of the 2022 BWF World Junior Championships was held from 17 – 22 October 2022. The event is also known as the 2022 Suhandinata Cup. Indonesia was the champion of the last edition held in Kazan, Russia.

The 2022 European Junior Badminton Championships are held at the Athletic Hall Belgrade in Belgrade, Serbia from 18 to 27 August 2022 to crown the best U-19 badminton players across Europe.
