Chang Chun-yen was a Taiwanese electrical engineer and professor who served as President of National Chiao Tung University (NCTU).

Yang Kuo-shu was a Chinese psychologist and political activist in Taiwan, considered the founder of indigenized Chinese psychology. He served as professor and Chair of the Psychology Department of National Taiwan University. He became Vice-President of Academic Sinica in 1996, and was elected as an academician in 1998. He was an advocate for political freedom and democracy during the Martial Law era, and was the founding president of the Taipei Society.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Chang Liyi</span> Chinese control systems engineer and professor

Chang Liyi, also known as Jack Chang, was a pilot in the Republic of China Air Force with the rank of major. A member of the CIA-trained Black Cat Squadron, he flew the American U-2 reconnaissance aircraft to spy on China's nuclear program. He was shot down on 10 January 1965 over Baotou, Inner Mongolia, and held in mainland China for 17 years. Chang was released from custody in 1969 and sent back to his hometown, in 1982 he was able to leave the mainland but was not granted permission to return to Taiwan until 1990, living the interim years in the United States.

Liu Ping-wei was a Taiwanese politician. He was first elected to the Taiwan Provincial Assembly in 1981 and served continuously until 1998. Liu assumed the speakership of the provincial assembly between 1994 and 1998, and sat for a single term in the Legislative Yuan from 1999 to 2002.

Hwawei Ko was a Taiwanese pedagogue and professor who specialised in the promotion of reading education in Taiwan. She was the first director of the Learning and Teaching Institute of the Faculty of Letters at the National Central University and was professor of both the Department of Psychology of the National Chengchi University and at the National Chung Cheng University's Department of Psychology. Hwawei was a visiting scholar of the Harvard Institute for Educational Management and the Learning Research and Development Center at the University of Pittsburgh.
