He was born in a poor farming family in present-day Sanli village, Chaona, Pingliang, despite being a great-grandson of the famous general Huangfu Song, via Song's son Huangfu Shuxian.

Throughout his life, he was a member of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, vice chairman of the Chinese Quyi Artists Association, member of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Committee of the China Railway Art Troupe, deputy head and head of the rap troupe, and a national first-class actor.

Wang Dongming is a Chinese politician who has served since 2018 as the Vice Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and the Chairman of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions. Originally from Liaoning province, Wang served as the chief of the General Office of the Central Institutional Organization Commission between 2007 and 2012, and the Communist Party Secretary of Sichuan province between 2012 and 2018.

Zhao Kezhi is a Chinese retired politician who served as a State Councilor of the People’s Republic of China and as the Minister and Party Committee Secretary of the Ministry of Public Security, with the top police officer rank of Police Commissioner General. He is the former Communist Party Secretary of Hebei and Guizhou provinces, and the former Governor of Guizhou province. He had also previously served as a vice governor of Shandong and Jiangsu provinces.

Han Peixin was a People's Republic of China politician. He was born in Xiangshui County, Jiangsu Province. In the 1980s he served as Chinese Communist Party Committee Secretary and Governor of his home province. He was a member of the 12th and 13th Central Committees of the Chinese Communist Party. He was a delegate to the 5th (1978–1983), 6th (1983–1988) and 7th National People's Congress (1988–1993).

Ruan Posheng was a People's Republic of China politician. He was born in Yu County, Hebei. He was the 1st Chairman of the Shanxi People's Congress. He was a delegate to the 5th National People's Congress and 6th National People's Congress.

Liu Zemin was a Chinese politician. He was born in Lin County, Shanxi.

Major General Wang Puchen was born in Jiangshan of Qing Dynasty China's Zhejiang province. He was the Director of the Bureau of Investigation and Statistics for northern China stationed in Beijing. He reported directly to National Intelligence Director Dai Li.

In 2021, China continued to address the COVID-19 pandemic in China with a Zero-COVID policy that significantly reduced transmission of COVID-19 through large scale lockdowns and testing. The Convidecia and Sinopharm vaccines were approved for general use in China in February 2021. China achieved a record number of 55 space missions in 2021, including the development of the Tiangong space station and the first Chinese craft to land on Mars. Concerns about declining birth rates caused the national government to replace its two-child policy with a three-child policy in May 2021. In the Chinese zodiac, 2021 was the year of the Ox and associated with the Wuxing element of metal.

Dong Xiaojun is a Chinese diplomat. He has served as the Chinese ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to Jamaica, Uruguay, and Bulgaria.
