The Xi'an University of Science and Technology (西安科技大学) is a provincial public university in Xi'an, Shaanxi, China. It is affiliated with the Province of Shaanxi, and co-funded by the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government and the Ministry of Emergency Management.
Jin Xiang was a Chinese composer and conductor. He studied composition at the China Central Conservatory from 1954. In 1959 he received his Bachelor of Arts in Composition. Since being labelled a rightist in 1957, he was sent to work in Art Troupe of Aksu Prefecture after graduation, and had to labor at the same time. In 1973, he became a conductor of Orchestra of Song and Dance Ensemble of Xinjiang Song, Dance and Drama Theatre. After the Cultural Revolution he returned to Beijing and was conductor and composer in residence of the Orchestra of Beijing Song and Dance Ensemble from 1979–1984. Jin Xiang came to the United States in 1988 and was a visiting scholar at the Juilliard School in 1998 and the University of Washington and the composer-in-residence at the Washington National Opera. From 1994-1995 he was the Art Director of the China Performing Administration Centre of the Ministry of Culture. In 1996, he founded and was the president of the East-West Music Exchange Association, a non-profit that promoted the exchange of eastern and western music.
Li Guowen was a Chinese novelist who was the director of China Writers Association. Li was a member of the Chinese Communist Party.
Han Peixin was a People's Republic of China politician. He was born in Xiangshui County, Jiangsu Province. In the 1980s he served as Chinese Communist Party Committee Secretary and Governor of his home province. He was a member of the 12th and 13th Central Committees of the Chinese Communist Party. He was a delegate to the 5th (1978–1983), 6th (1983–1988) and 7th National People's Congress (1988–1993).
Li Ligong was a Chinese revolutionist and politician.
Ruan Posheng was a People's Republic of China politician. He was born in Yu County, Hebei. He was the 1st Chairman of the Shanxi People's Congress. He was a delegate to the 5th National People's Congress and 6th National People's Congress.

Yinchuan–Xi'an high-speed railway, is a dual-track, electrified, high-speed rail line in Northwest China between Yinchuan and Xi'an. The line is the first railway to connect Qingyang to the Chinese railway network, and also the first railway to connect Ningxia and Yinchuan to the high-speed railway network.
Qian Jiaqi, also romanized as Jia-Qi Qian, was a Chinese nephrologist and professor at Renji Hospital of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. He was the first clinical physician to perform hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis in China, and established a Kt/V value of at least 1.7 as the target for peritoneal dialysis.
Liu Shouxiang was a Chinese watercolor painter and professor at the Hubei Institute of Fine Arts. His work won many awards and was collected by many art museums. He was also a member of the China Democratic League.
Li Guanxing was a Chinese nuclear material engineer who served as president of the CNNC North Nuclear Fuel Element Co., Ltd. between 2001 and 2004. He was chairperson and party chief of Chinese Nuclear Society from 2008 to 2018. He was a delegate to the 16th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and a member of the 10th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
In 2021, China continued to address the COVID-19 pandemic in China with a Zero-COVID policy that significantly reduced transmission of COVID-19 through large scale lockdowns and testing. The Convidecia and Sinopharm vaccines were approved for general use in China in February 2021. China achieved a record number of 55 space missions in 2021, including the development of the Tiangong space station and the first Chinese craft to land on Mars. Concerns about declining birth rates caused the national government to replace its two-child policy with a three-child policy in May 2021. In the Chinese zodiac, 2021 was the year of the Ox and associated with the Wuxing element of metal.
