Abd al-Hafid of Morocco Sultan of Morocco

Abdelhafid of Morocco or Mulai Abdelhafid was the Sultan of Morocco from 1908 to 1912 and a member of the Alaouite Dynasty. His younger brother, Abdelaziz of Morocco, preceded him. While Mulai Abdelhafid initially opposed his brother for giving some concessions to foreign powers, he himself became increasingly backed by the French and finally signed the protectorate treaty giving de facto control of the country to France.

Abū Yūsuf Yaʿqūb ibn Yūsuf ibn Abd al-Muʾmin al-Manṣūr, commonly known as Jacob Almanzor or Moulay Yacoub, was the third Almohad Caliph. Succeeding his father, al-Mansur reigned from 1184 to 1199. His reign was distinguished by the flourishing of trade, architecture, philosophy and the sciences, as well as by victorious military campaigns in which he was successful in repelling the tide of Christian Reconquista in the Iberian Peninsula.

Abu Muhammad Abd al-Wahid 'al-Makhlu' was the Almohad Caliph for less than a year in 1224.

El Badi Palace

El Badi Palace or Badi' Palace is a ruined palace located in Marrakesh, Morocco. It was commissioned by the sultan Ahmad al-Mansur of the Saadian dynasty a few months after his accession in 1578, with construction and embellishment continuing throughout most of his reign. The palace, decorated with materials imported from numerous countries ranging from Italy to Mali, was used for receptions and designed to showcase the Sultan's wealth and power. It was one part of a larger Saadian palace complex occupying the Kasbah district of Marrakesh.

Al-Samawa FC

Samawa FC, is an Iraqi sports club based in As-Samawa, Al-Muthanna, Iraq, which plays in the Iraqi Premier League, the top tier of the Iraqi football. The club's home stadium is As Samawah Stadium.

Muhibb al-Din Abu Abdallah Muhammad ibn Umar ibn Rushayd al-Fihri al-Sabti was a judge, writer and scholar of Hadith, born in Ceuta, North Africa. In 1284 he travelled east for three years to perform the hajj and study. During his travels he became friends with the future vizier of Granada Ibn al-Hakim al-Rundi. By Ibn al-Hakim's invitation, he came to Granada in 1292 or 1293 and was appointed as an imam and then a judge. After the vizier's assassination in 1309, he moved to the Marinid state where he became imam in Marrakesh, and then a close advisor to Sultan Abu Sa'id Uthman II. He died in February 1321 in Fez. He was well respected both during his life and in historical accounts, and left his writings on various topic, including on hadith, literature, and an account of his travel (rihla).

Abū al-Ḥakam ʿAbd al-Salām b. ʿAbd al Raḥmān b. Abī al-Rijāl Muḥammad b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Lakhmī al-Ifrīqī al-Ishbīlī was one of the greatest Sufi figures of Al-Andalus and a hadith scholar. He spread his teachings in the first half of the 12th century. He wrote a two-volume commentary on the names of Allah, two famous tafseers, Idah al-hikma bi Ahkam al-'Ibra Wisdom Deciphered The Unseen Discovered, which exists in a critical edition. and Tanbih al-Afham Ila Tadabbur al-Kitab al-Hakim wa Ta'arruf al-Ayat wa-l-Naba al-'Athim, which is currently printed in 3 editions. Ibn Barrajan is most famous for his prediction of the conquering of Jerusalem from the crusaders by Salahudeen Ayyubi, only being a few days off. His writings had a great influence on Ibn Arabi who was quite sceptical of Ibn Barrajan's methods of prognostication of the Jerusalem conquest calling them 'Ilm al-Huruf.

Abu Mohammed Abd al-Jalil ibn Wahbun better known as simply Ibn Wahbun, was a poet from Al Andalus in the 11th century. He made his career at the court of Al-Mutamid in Sevilla and the Almoravid court in Marrakesh. He was born in Murcia ca. 1039/1049. He was murdered by Christian raiders on the road from Lorca to Murcia in 1087. One of his poems is the famous ode to the battle of Zalaca.

Abu Musa al-Jazuli, was a Moroccan philologist and grammarian, who produced an encyclopaedia called Al-Qānūn, or Al-Muqaddima of al-Jazūlī. Many scholars wrote tafsir or sharḥ (commentaries), and it was incorporated in many grammars. Nevertheless, its opacity challenged the best language scholars. Al-Jazūlī was the first to introduce Al-Ṣiḥāḥ fī al-lughah of al-Jawhari to the Maghreb, and he makes many references to this and other works in his Muqaddima.

al-Abbās ibn Ibrāhīm as-Samlālī al-Marrākshī was a Moroccan historian, faqih, and judge from Marrakesh. He is notable for his book Information About the Notables of Marrakesh and Aghmat.

The Conditioned Bay'ah or the Bay'ah of Fes was a bay'ah contract of the conditional support of the people of Fes for Abdelhafid as sultan of Morocco in the Hafidiya. Led by the Sufi leader Muhammad al-Kattani, the people of Fes imposed, for the first time in Morocco, a set of conditions on the sovereign in return for their support.

Ahmad al-Abbas Sultan of Morocco

Ahmad al-Abbas was the last Sultan of the Saadi dynasty in present-day Morocco. He assumed power in Marrakesh in 1655 after the death of his father, Mohammed esh-Sheikh es-Seghir, and was assassinated in 1659 by his uncle, Abdul Karim Abu Bakr Al-Shabani. His uncle assumed power until 1668 when the Alaouite leader Moulay Al-Rashid took control of the city.
