  • March 9 – The DENR Warriors claimed the first championship title of the UNTV Cup Season 8 after they won against the AFP Cavaliers in the Game 2 of the Finals series at Smart Araneta Coliseum, Quezon City. [4] ₱4 million cash prize for their chosen beneficiary. [5]
  • June 1 – The Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) has officially canceled its 2019–2020 season, citing the restrictions caused by the COVID-19 crisis as well as the uncertainty surrounding the franchise renewal of ABS-CBN. [6]

  • September 9 – University of Santo Tomas (UST) head coach Aldin Ayo has been banned indefinitely from the UAAP for his role in the controversial "Sorsogon bubble," where the UST men's basketball team conducted a training camp in his hometown, in a potential violation of quarantine protocols. The University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP), established in 1938, is an athletic association of eight Metro Manila universities in the Philippines. The eight-member schools are Adamson University, Ateneo de Manila University, De La Salle University (DLSU), Far Eastern University (FEU), National University (NU), University of the East (UE), University of the Philippines Diliman (UP), and the University of Santo Tomas (UST).

The University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Overall Championship is awarded to the school with the highest point total in the different UAAP events. It was first awarded in UAAP Season 10. Member universities currently compete in fifteen sports to vie for the overall championship, namely, badminton, baseball, basketball, beach volleyball, chess, fencing, football, judo, softball, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, track and field, and volleyball.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">De La Salle Green Archers</span> Varsity teams representing De La Salle University

The De La Salle Green Archers are the men's varsity teams representing De La Salle University in the Philippines. The women's varsity teams are generally referred to as the De La Salle Lady Archers. The school's varsity teams participate in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines, among others. La Salle is represented in the high school level by De La Salle Zobel, and are known as the Zobel Junior Archers.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Topex Robinson</span> Filipino basketball player and coach

Michael Christopher "Topex" Robinson is a Filipino professional basketball coach and former player who is the head coach for the De La Salle Green Archers of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). He previously coached the Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He was drafted 44th overall by the Tanduay Rhum Masters.

Hidilyn "Hidi" Francisco Diaz-Naranjo is a Filipino weightlifter and airwoman. She holds two Olympic records in weightlifting for her performance at the women's 55 kg category for weightlifting at the 2020 Summer Olympics.

The 2012 UST Growling Tigers men's basketball team represented University of Santo Tomas in the 75th season of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines. The men's basketball tournament for the school year 2012-2013 began on July 14, 2012 and the host school for the season was National University.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Kiefer Ravena</span> Filipino basketball player (born 1993)

Kiefer Isaac Crisologo Ravena is a Filipino professional basketball player for Shiga Lakes of the B2 League. Ravena played for the Ateneo Blue Eagles of the UAAP during his college days. He plays the point guard position.

Jeric Allen Uy Teng is a Filipino basketball player for the Quezon Huskers of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). He was drafted 12th overall by Rain or Shine in the 2013 PBA draft. He played college ball for the UST Growling Tigers in the UAAP.
