The 2023 East Africa T20 Cup was a Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket tournament that took place in Rwanda in August 2023. [1] The venue for the series was the Gahanga International Cricket Stadium in Kigali. [2]

Contents

The participating teams were the hosts Rwanda along with Tanzania and Uganda. [3] Ghana were originally scheduled to participate, but withdrew before the start of the tournament. [4] Uganda, the defending champions, having won the 2022 tournament, [5] also achieved victory in the 2023 tournament, with eleven wins in twelve matches. [6] Uganda's only defeat in the tournament was against Tanzania on 21 August 2023. They bounced back by defeating Tanzania four times in the remainder of the tournament.

Zimbabwe had won the first edition in 2019, but they did not defend the title in this edition due to other commitments. The venue for all of the matches was the Lugogo Stadium in Kampala. The 2023 Continent Cup T20 Africa was a men's Twenty20 Intertnational (T20I) cricket tournament that was played in Nairobi, Kenya, in June 2023. The tournament was organised by the International League T20. The participating teams were Kenya, Botswana, Rwanda and Uganda. The tournament was to be contested as a single round-robin followed by semi-finals and a final, but this was changed to a double round-robin and a final after the withdrawal of Nigeria, and later to a triple round-robin and final after the withdrawal of Tanzania. All of the matches were played at the Gymkhana Club Ground.
