Local elections are scheduled to be held in Manila on May 12, 2025, as part of the 2025 Philippine general election. The electorate will elect a mayor, a vice mayor, 36 members of the Manila City Council, and six district representatives to the House of Representatives of the Philippines. The officials elected in the election will assume their respective offices on June 30, 2025, for a three-year-long term.

Background

Mayor Honey Lacuna and Vice Mayor Yul Servo are the incumbents; both of which are members of the Asenso Manileño, the city's ruling party. Both of them are expected to defend their positions.[ citation needed ]

Manila held its local elections on Monday, May 13, 2019, as a part of the 2019 Philippine general election. Voters elected candidates for mayor, vice mayor, 6 congressmen, and the 36 councilors that would be members of the City Council. There are a total of 736,156 people who voted out of the 1,065,149 city's registered voters. Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso won the elections, enabling him to serve a three-year term as the mayor of Manila. His running mate, the incumbent vice mayor Maria Sheilah "Honey" Lacuna-Pangan, once again topped the vice mayoral race, securing her to serve her second three-year term as the city's vice mayor.

Elections were held in Metro Manila for seats in the House of Representatives of the Philippines on May 13, 2019.

Danilo Bautista Lacuna Sr. was a Filipino lawyer and politician who served as vice mayor of Manila from 1970 to 1971, 1988 to 1992, and from 1998 to 2007. He also served as city councilor from the 3rd district from 1967 to 1975 and as a special assistant to the then Manila Municipal Board beginning in 1963. Lacuna was the founder of the local party Asenso Manileño. He also unsuccessfully ran for mayor of Manila in 1992 and in 2007 and for representative of the 6th district of Manila in 2010. He was the father of incumbent Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna and was a mentor of former Mayor Isko Moreno.

Maria Theresa Brondial Bonoan-David is a Filipino lawyer and politician who last served as the representative of the 4th district of Manila from 2007 to 2016. She also previously served as a member of the Manila City Council from the same district from 1998 to 2007.

The 2025 Philippine Senate election will be the 35th election of members to the Senate of the Philippines for a six-year term. It will be held on May 12, 2025, within the 2025 general elections.
