Akoko South-East [1] is a Local Government Area in Ondo State, Nigeria. [2] Its headquarters are in Isua (Akoko). [3] Akoko South-East is one of six Local Government Areas in the Northern Senatorial District of Ondo State. [4] [5]
The landscape is a mix of savannah and lowland forest. Annual rainfall ranges between 8 cm-150 cm (3.14in - 59.05in) per year with an average temperature of 28-35 °C (82-95 °F). [6] The territory is divided into Isua Oke and Isua Ile. [7]
The origins of Isua can be traced back to the ancient Benin Empire. [8]
In Isua, only those who come from the royal Odovia family can be crowned as king.

Ipe Akoko is a town in Akoko South East in Ondo State. [10]
It is an agricultural community. The town is situated on rocky terrain. It comprises ten quarters: Iba, Okun, Isinodo, Ilegbe, Igbede, Ugbe, Itoto, Ipaso, Uwi and Uthakpe quarters. The current king is His Royal Majesty, Oba Evangelist Francis Omokanjuola Apata, The Arogunbola II.

The Akoko are a large Yoruba cultural sub-group in the Northeastern part of Yorubaland. The area spans from Ondo State to Edo State in southwest Nigeria. The Akokos as a subgroup make up 20.3% of the population of Ondo State. Out of the present 18 Local Government Councils it constitutes four; Akoko North-East, Akoko North-West, Akoko South-East and Akoko South-West, as well as the Akoko Edo LGA of Edo State. The Adekunle Ajasin University, a state owned university with a capacity for about 20,000 tertiary education students and more than 50 departments in seven faculties is located in Akungba-Akoko. A state specialist hospital is situated at Ikare Akoko, while community general hospitals are located in Oka-Akoko and Ipe-Akoko.

Akoko Edo is a Local Government Area in Edo State, Nigeria. Its headquarters is in the town of Igarra. It has an area of 1,371 km2 and a population of 262,110 at the 2006 census. The earliest settlers of Akoko Edo were the Benins who would have been there the same period the Etsako people moved from Benin during the reign of Oba Ozolua (1483-1504). Other migrating people, due to the fortunes of time, came into the area. Of the Igbirra and Idah from the North and East, the war which Oba Esigie fought in 1515-1516 with the Attah of Idah would have brought a lot of migration into the area.

The Ekiti people are one of the largest historical subgroups of the larger Yoruba people of West Africa, located in Nigeria. They are classified as a Central Yoruba group, alongside the Ijesha, Igbomina, Yagba and Ifes. Ekiti State is populated exclusively by Ekiti people; however, it is but a segment of the historic territorial domain of Ekiti-speaking groups, which historically included towns in Ondo State such as Akure, Ilara-Mokin, Ijare, and Igbara-oke. Gabriel Akinbolarin Akinbiyi was born on the 5th of December, 1949. He married Mrs Stella A. Akinbiyi sometime between 1956-1961, he went to St John's Anglican school oke Igbo and later on went to local authority modern school oke Igbo, during 1962-1964. Afterwards he went to diocesan training centre, wusasa Zaria (D.T.C) in 1975-1976. He was the Bishop of Akoko in the Anglican province of Ondo in the Church of Nigeria until 2019.
