Alan Krashesky (born October 19, 1960) is a former American news anchor. He was the principal news anchor for WLS-TV, an American Broadcasting Company-owned and operated television station in Chicago, Illinois.

Alan Krashesky (born October 19, 1960) is a former American news anchor. He was the principal news anchor for WLS-TV, an American Broadcasting Company-owned and operated television station in Chicago, Illinois.
Krashesky was with ABC 7 starting in 1982 when he was hired as a general assignment reporter. He anchored the 5pm, 6pm and 10pm weekday newscasts. He co-anchored the 10pm newscast since May 2016, initially with Kathy Brock until her retirement on June 27, 2018, and then with Cheryl Burton. He co-anchored the 6 pm weekday newscast since 1998, most recently alongside Judy Hsu, and previously with Kathy Brock from 1998 to 2018. He co-anchored the 5pm newscast with Cheryl Burton from May 2016 until his retirement on November 22, 2022. Previously, he co-anchored the 4pm weekday newscast alongside Linda Yu from May 2005 to May 2016. Prior to that, he co-anchored the station's 5 p.m. weekday newscast with Diann Burns from 1994 to 1998. Krashesky was also the first person to anchor ABC 7's morning newscasts; a position he held from 1989 - 1994. Every newscast he has anchored has consistently been rated #1 in the Chicago market. [1]
After graduating from college in 1981, Krashesky became a news reporter for WBNG-TV in Binghamton, New York. After just a year at WBNG-TV, he moved to Austin, Texas where he was a news reporter and weekend weather anchor at KTBC-TV. He gained his first broadcasting experience when he was a news anchor at WICB radio in Ithaca, New York.
On October 4, 2022, Krashesky announced his retirement. [2] On November 22, 2022, he anchored his final newscasts at 5:00 pm, 6:00 pm, and 10:00 pm.
Krashesky was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His father was murdered in a robbery when Alan was four months old, [3] and he attended the Milton Hershey School, a residential school for children in social and financial need. [4] In 2005, Krashesky was named Milton Hershey Alumnus of the Year. [5] He attended Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York. In 1981, he graduated with a B.S. in Communications Management.
Krashesky has three older siblings and is married to Colleen Merritt Krashesky; together, they have 3 children. Their son, Kian, was born in South Korea and goes to Columbia College Chicago. Their youngest daughter, Kiera, was born in China and goes to the University of Michigan. The eldest daughter, Kaylin, graduated from the Missouri School of Journalism. [6] [7] From 2009–2010, Kaylin was a video journalist and associate producer for WMBF news in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and worked as a Morning News Anchor and Reporter for KDRV-TV in Medford, Oregon from 2010–2012. Lauren Cohn is a radio host at WLS in Chicago. Cohn previously worked as a morning anchor at WLS-TV in Chicago in 1993. She later moved to be an Anchor/general assignment reporter at WBBM-TV in 1998. Then, she worked for WFLD as a general assignment and health reporter. In February 2004, she moved to WCAU-TV in Philadelphia where she worked as an anchor/reporter until March 2007. While with WCAU she was nominated for the Best Anchor Emmy in 2004 and 2005. Then she moved back to Chicago to anchor the 10pm Newscast at Fox News Chicago. On August 30, 2010 it was announced that she would be joining WTXF-TV in Philadelphia as the main anchor. She left WTXF in January 2013.

She entered the Chicago TV market as a reporter after a successful career as newspaper journalist. She earned an advanced degree in journalism at Columbia University in New York.
Mark Giangreco is the former sports director and lead sports anchor for WLS-TV in Chicago, Illinois. Until 2021, Giangreco had anchored the sports segment on ABC7 during the 5pm and 10pm newscasts. He remains an ESPN Radio contributor.

Magers worked for WLS-TV, the ABC owned-and-operated station in Chicago, Illinois, where he co-anchored the top-rated 5:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. broadcasts with Cheryl Burton and Kathy Brock, respectively. Magers is the brother of Paul Magers, a former television anchor and reporter for KCBS-TV, the CBS owned-and-operated station in Los Angeles.

John Richard Drury was an American television news anchor from Chicago, Illinois. Drury is most known for serving as anchor on Chicago news broadcasts which included: WGN-TV from 1967 to 1970 and again from 1979 until 1984; WLS-TV from 1970 to 1979 and 1984 until his retirement in 2002. Upon his retirement came the news that he was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, otherwise known as Lou Gehrig's disease. Drury was a leading activist for ALS research and was a spokesperson for the Brain Research Foundation. Drury died from motor neurone disease in 2007 at age 80.
Kathy Brock is a former news anchor at WLS-TV, Chicago's ABC affiliate. She was a co-anchor of the station's 6 pm and 10 pm news broadcasts alongside Alan Krashesky.
Cheryl Annette Burton is an American news anchor who has been working for WLS–TV, an American Broadcasting Company-owned and operated television station in Chicago, Illinois, since 1992. Burton anchors the station's 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. newscast alongside Ravi Baichwal and Rob Elgas. She formerly anchored for the 7pm newscast on WCIU-TV alongside Hosea Sanders. She also currently anchors the digital 7 p.m. newscast also alongside Rob Elgas.
Linda Yu is a Chinese-American former news anchor and author. Yu is best known as co-anchor on the Eyewitness newscast for WLS-TV in Chicago, Illinois from April 1984 until November 2016. Yu became Chicago's first Asian–American broadcast journalist when she began her news career in Chicago at WMAQ-TV in 1979. For her broadcasting work, Yu has received a total of five local Emmy Awards including one for her report examining the aftermath of 9/11 in 2001. In 1984, Yu was honored with a National Gold Medal from the National Conference of Community and Justice for her documentary, "The Scars of Belfast".

Joel Daly was an American news anchor, most known for serving as an anchor for WLS-TV in Chicago, Illinois, for 38 years from 1967 to 2005. Daly served as co-anchor on the 4 pm news broadcast alongside Linda Yu from January 1985 until his retirement in May 2005. Daly was inducted into the Silver Circle, a group of elite Chicago broadcasters, in 2003. Following his retirement from news broadcasting in 2005, from March 2007 until October 2013, Daly served as spokesperson for Chicago's Cook County federal courthouse.
Scott Stanford is an American entertainment host, news/sports anchor and commentator. Stanford is currently a studio Host for WWE and can also be seen co-hosting The Suki & Scott Show on digital and broadcast platforms. Scott can also be heard occasionally hosting on 77 WABC Radio in New York and doing stand up comedy for various charity organizations.
Ryan Chiaverini is an American television personality, and Midwest Emmy Award winning co-host of Windy City Live on ABC Chicago (WLS-TV). He is also the Lead Sports Anchor at ABC7 Chicago replacing Jim Rose who retired in September 2023.
