All Saints Episcopal School is a small private Episcopal school in Tyler, Texas. It is a college preparatory school for children Pre-school through 12th grade.
All Saints Episcopal School was founded in 1976. In the first year, the school had 118 students and 11 faculty. In 1982, Mr. W. W. Wagley donated 20 acres for a new school site which is the school's current campus. In 1983, the first building was completed for the 1983-1984 school year, and 326 students were enrolled in preschool through 8th grade. [3] The current campus has grown to include nearly 10 buildings across 150 acres. [4]
All Saints is accredited by the Independent Schools Association of the Southwest (ISAS), recognized by the Texas Education Agency and the Southwestern Association of Episcopal Schools (SAES), and a member of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) and the National Association of Episcopal Schools (NAES). Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten, and Kindergarten classes are offered for children 3-5 years old in small classes with a teacher and an aide. The student to teacher ratio is 6:1. [5]
Lower School encompasses grades 1-4. Students get more familiar with traditional subjects like math, science, and reading, and experience unique learning opportunities at the Largest Learning Farm in the state of Texas, where All Students will become Jr. Master Gardeners by the end of 4th Grade. Middle School at All Saints consists of 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. All 5th-7th grade students attend science classes in the Outdoor Learning Center. Competitive athletics begin in 6th grade. [7]
Upper school consists of 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grades. The All Saints Upper School has produced over 90 National Merit scholars in the last 20 years, which leads East Texas. The GPA average for alumni after their first year of college is over 3.1. [8]
All Saints is renowned for its debate team, which has had students qualify for Nationals for the past 14 years. In 2019, one team placed 2nd at the National Speech and Debate Association Tournament.
