Andy Dunbobbin (born January 1975) [1] is a British politician serving as Police and Crime Commissioner for North Wales since 2021. A member of the Labour Party,he was a member of Flintshire County Council from 2013 to 2022.
Before being elected as North Wales Police and Crime Commissioner,Dunbobbin was a County Councillor representing Connah's Quay Golftyn ward on Flintshire County Council,having first been elected in 2013. [2] [3]
In March 2020,Dunbobbin was selected for the Welsh Labour Party to stand in the 2021 England and Wales police and crime commissioner elections for the North Wales region. [4]
Dunbobbin was elected as the North Wales Police and Crime Commissioner,beating the Conservative candidate by 7,885 votes following the allocation of second preferences. [5]
Dunbobbin is married with two children.

Bagillt is a large village and community in Flintshire,Wales. The village overlooks the Dee Estuary and is between the towns of Holywell and Flint. At the 2001 Census the population was recorded as 3,918,increasing to 4,165 at the 2011 census. The community also includes the settlements of Coleshill,Walwen and Whelston.

With a population of 16,771,it is the largest town in Flintshire. The town is also part of the wider Deeside conurbation and is contiguous with Shotton,Flint and Buckley.

Elections of police and crime commissioners in England and Wales were held on 6 May 2021,on the same day as the Senedd election in Wales and the local elections in England. This was the third time police and crime commissioner elections have been held. The elections were originally due to take place in May 2020 but were postponed by 12 months in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. Turnout was an average of 34.1% across the elections,with Wales having much higher turnout mainly due to the simultaneous Senedd election held across Wales,whereas only parts of England had simultaneous local elections.
