YB Datuk Annuar Ayub @Banand (also known as Datuk Annuar Ayub Aman, Abbreviation AAA) is a Malaysian politician from Liawan, Sabah region. [3] He is the STAR Vice president representing Liawan constituency and also the Sabah State Assemblyman for the Liawan constituency, replacing Rasinin Kautis after winning the seat in the 2020 Sabah state election. [4] [5] He became the official member of Homeland Solidarity Party (STAR), the component party of GRS since 2018. He started his career as politician in 18 December 2018 after Annuar officially joined the Homeland Solidarity Party (STAR). [6]
Annuar Ayub started his political career by joining Sabah STAR Party on 18 December 2018. He has become a key member of Sabah STAR Party because of the contributions he has given to people around Keningau, especially in his own place in Liawan. In 2020, he became a Member of the Sabah State Legislative Assembly for the Liawan constituency (representing GRS-STAR), replacing Rasinin Kautis after winning the Liawan seat. After his victory in the 2020 Sabah state election in Liawan constituency, he was appointed as the Vice President of Sabah STAR Party representing Liawan constituency. [7]
Annuar Ayub is the son of Datuk Ayub Aman who was a Minister in Sabah during the Sabah People's United Party from 1976 to 1984. His uncle, Musa Aman is the former Chief Minister of Sabah, while his other uncle, Anifah Aman is the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia and was later appointed President of Sabah's Love Party who contested in the 2020 Sabah state election. His cousin, Yamani Hafez Musa is a Member of Parliament for Sipitang who is a member of Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (GAGASAN Rakyat), a major component party in [9] Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS). [10] [11]
Musa Bin Haji Aman is a Malaysian politician who served as the 14th Chief Minister, State Minister of Finance from March 2003 to May 2018, Member of the Sabah State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Sungai Sibuga from February 1994 to September 2020, the former State Chairman of Barisan Nasional (BN) and United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) of Sabah. In April 2023, He become the direct member of Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS). He is the longest-serving Chief Minister of Sabah by holding the position for 15 years and is the older half brother of Anifah Aman, the Special Advisor to the Chief Minister of Sabah on International Relations and Foreign Investments, President of Love Sabah Party (PCS) and former Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Jeffrey Gapari Kitingan is Malaysian politician who has served as the Deputy Chief Minister of Sabah I since January 2023 and State Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries of Sabah for the second term since September 2020. He served as the Deputy Chief Minister of Sabah II from October 2020 to his promotion in January 2023 and the first term in the position in May 2018. In January 2023, he was appointed as the Deputy Chief Minister I of Sabah succeeding Bung Mokhtar, who was dropped due to a political crisis. At the federal level, he served as the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture from March 2020 to his resignation in September 2020 and Deputy Minister of Housing and Local Government from August 1994 to May 1995. He has served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Keningau since May 2018, Member of the Sabah State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Tambunan since May 2018 and Bingkor from May 2013 to May 2018. He has served and been founding President of the Homeland Solidarity Party (STAR), a component party of the ruling Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) and a former component party of the federal and state ruling Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition, since July 2016.
Anifah bin Haji Aman @ Haniff Amman is a Malaysian politician who has served as Senator since March 2023, Chairman of the Labuan Corporation since June 2023, Special Advisor to the Chief Minister of Sabah Hajiji Noor on International Relations and Foreign Investments since January 2023 and the 3rd President of the Love Sabah Party (PCS) since July 2020. He served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Minister of Primary Industries and Deputy Minister of Primary Industries in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under former Prime Ministers Mahathir Mohamad, Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and Najib Razak and former Ministers Lim Keng Yaik and Peter Chin Fah Kui from December 1999 to the collapse of the BN administration in May 2018 as well as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Beaufort from November 1999 to March 2004 and for Kimanis from March 2004 to August 2019 and for Beaufort from November 1999 to March 2004. He is a member of the PCS and was a member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of the BN coalition before leaving it to be an independent in September 2018 and joining PCS in 2020.
Homeland Solidarity Party is a Sabah-based political party. The party was founded on 1 July 2016 by Datuk Seri Panglima Dr. Jeffrey G. Kitingan. He is Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan's younger brother, the former chief minister of Sabah and ex-president of United Sabah Party (PBS). STAR Party was one of four founding parties of the United Sabah Alliance (USA) founded in 2016, United Alliance of Sabah (UAOS) founded in 2018, and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) founded in 2020, the other being the Sabah People's Ideas Party (GAGASAN), Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) and United Sabah Party (PBS).
The United Alliance of Sabah is a political coalition bringing together Sabah-based opposition parties in Malaysia established by Joseph Pairin Kitingan following the fall of the Barisan Nasional coalition in the 2018 Malaysian general election. The new coalition was intended to include the United Sabah Party, Homeland Solidarity Party and remnants of former Sabah BN members, mainly those of the United Malays National Organisation's Sabah branch led by Musa Aman who was rumoured to have intended on joining to PBS. However, no such move has materialised, with Musa Aman remaining a member of UMNO and BN. The GBS Alliance is not yet registered until now. On September 12, 2020, This coalition was later followed by the Sabah People's Alliance (GRS) founded by Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Noor. (Malay: Gabungan Rakyat Sabah)
Datuk Zakaria bin Mohd. Edris is a Malaysian politician who served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Libaran from May 2018 to November 2022, State Assistant Minister of Housing and Local Government of Sabah in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under former Chief Minister Musa Aman from 2013 to 2018 and Member of the Sabah State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Gum-Gum from March 2004 to May 2018. He is a former member of Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU), an official main component party of the Perikatan Nasional (PN) and a former component party of Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) coalition also a former component party of Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition. He also a former member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of the BN coalition. He left UMNO to be an independent in 2018 and later joined BERSATU in 2019 until 2023. In 2023, he officially became the member of Sabah People's Ideas Party, the main component party of Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) along with 7 other parties.
Yamani Hafez bin Musa is a Malaysian politician who served as the Deputy Minister of Finance II in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under former Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob and former Minister Tengku Zafrul Aziz from August 2021 to the collapse of the BN administration in November 2022, Member of Parliament (MP) for Sipitang from May 2018 to November 2022 and Chairman of FELCRA Berhad from July 2020 to September 2021. In 2019 until 2022, He was a former member of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU), a component of the Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition. He is also the son of Musa Aman, the former Chief Minister of Sabah. In 2023, He is an official member of the Sabah People's Ideas Party, a component of the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) coalition.
The Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah or also registered as Parti Gagasan Bersama Rakyat Sabah and better known as Gagasan Rakyat, is a political party based in Sabah, Malaysia mainly to serve as a Sabah-based community and regionalist party. The party was formed and registered on 28 August 2013 by Sabah local politician, Ationg Tituh as a multi-racial Sabah opposition party then with the vision to present the views and will of the original Sabahans to the government. It is only started to be active in 2016 and relatively little-known new party, initially registered as Parti Gagasan Bersama Rakyat Sabah, was among the latest new parties registration approved by the Registrar of Society (RoS) and just received permission to operate as a political party in 2013. This party is the main component of Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) since 9 December 2022.
Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji bin Noor is a Malaysian politician who has served as the 16th Chief Minister of Sabah since September 2020 and Member of the Sabah State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Sulaman since October 1990. He is also the first official chairman of political coalition party in Sabah, the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah Party and 3rd President of the Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (GAGASAN).

He served as State Minister of Education and Innovation of Sabah in the Heritage Party (WARISAN) state administration under former Chief Minister Shafie Apdal from May 2018 to the collapse of the WARISAN administration in September 2020, Deputy Speaker of the Dewan Rakyat from May 2004 to December 2007 and Member of Parliament (MP) for Sipitang from April 1995 to March 2008. He is a member of the Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (GAGASAN), a component party of the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) coalition. He was a member of the WARISAN, before leaving the party on 8 October 2021 to become an independent in support of the ruling GRS coalition. He was also member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of the Barisan Nasional (BN) which he left in 2018. On 22 May 2022, he confirmed that he had applied to rejoin and was pending return to BN and UMNO after leaving them four years ago. However, his application was not accepted before he withdrew the application and joined GAGASAN instead on 21 January 2023.
Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan is a Malaysian politician who has served as the State Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister of Sabah in the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) state administration under Chief Minister Hajiji Noor since October 2022 and Member of the Sabah State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Apas since May 2018. He served as State Assistant Minister of Finance in the GRS state administration under Chief Minister and Minister Hajiji from October 2020 to October 2022. He is a member of the Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (GAGASAN), a component party of the GRS coalition.

Gabungan Rakyat Sabah, also officially known as the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah Party or in short GRS Party is an official registered political coalition and also a single entity political party in Sabah, Malaysia. Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor is the founder and the inaugural chairman holder of this registered political coalition. At the state level, Gabungan Rakyat Sabah is a coalition of parties with the same formula as Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) which promotes unity between the president of the local party and the local people. GRS is the coalition of political parties that has the most party components in Malaysia with 7 local parties in the coalition.
In Malaysian politics, a frog refers to an act where a politician crosses the bench from one party to another (changing support). This term was first coined in during the 1994 Sabah state elections after United Sabah Party losing its majority even the party won the state elections. Despite its usage nationwide, it is more familiar within the state of Sabah. Since May 25, 2023, nine (9) states of Malaysia has approved the Parties hopping prevention law also known as the "Anti-Switching Parties Law" or "Anti-Hopping Parties Law" for both Parliament and State legislative assembly including Sabah and Sarawak.
