Anton Alberts (born 1970) is a South African lawyer and politician. He serves as a member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature as leader of the Freedom Front Plus.

Early life

Anton Alberts was born in 1970. [1] He graduated from the Randse Afrikaanse Universiteit, where he earned an LLB degree, followed by a master's degree in International Law in 1998. [1]

Career

Alberts taught the Law at his alma mater, the University of Johannesburg, as well as Technikon South Africa (now part of the University of South Africa), the University of the Witwatersrand and Rhodes University. [1]

He is a member of Freedom Front Plus, where he serves as the National Chairperson. [1] Since 2009, Alberts has served as a member of the National Assembly of South Africa. [1] [2] After the 2019 general election he was elected to the Gauteng Provincial Legislature.

He was previously a member of the National Assembly, where he was Shadow Minister of Human Settlements between 2014 and 2016. Gana also served as the Deputy Federal Chairperson of the DA until 2015. He was previously leader of the DA Youth and DA councillor in the City of Johannesburg, he holds a BSc degree and is currently registered for a Postgraduate Diploma in Management at the Wits Business School.

Pieter Groenewald

Petrus Johannes "Pieter" Groenewald is a South African politician. He has been serving as the Leader of the Freedom Front Plus since his election in November 2016. He started his political career by being elected Mayor of Stilfontein in 1988. He relinguished the position in 1989 due to his election to the House of Assembly. Groenewald co-founded the Freedom Front in 1994, and served as an Member of the National Assembly until his election to the North West Provincial Legislature in 1999. He returned to the National Assembly in 2001.

Cornelius Petrus Mulder is a South African politician. He serves as a member of the National Assembly of South Africa.

Barbara Creecy South African politician

Barbara Dallas Creecy is a South African politician and previous anti-apartheid activist. A member of the African National Congress, she is currently serving as Minister of Environment, Forestry and Fisheries, and as a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa. She previously served as a Member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature, having been elected in 1994. In 2004, she was named Gauteng MEC for Sports, Recreation, Arts and Culture. She served until 2009 when she was appointed MEC for Education. Newly elected premier David Makhura moved Creecy to the Gauteng Finance portfolio in 2014.

Panyaza Lesufi

Andrek "Panyaza" Lesufi is a South African politician. He has been serving as the Gauteng MEC for Education since May 2014, despite a brief interruption in May 2019. He was appointed the Gauteng MEC for Finance and e-Government in May 2019, but returned to the post of Education MEC a day later. Lesufi is also a Member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature for the African National Congress (ANC) and the Deputy Chairperson of the party in the province. Lesufi served as the acting MEC for Social Development following the death of Thuliswa Nkabinde-Khawe in November 2019 until the appointment of Nomathemba Mokgethi in June 2020.

2019 Gauteng provincial election

The 2019 Gauteng provincial election was held on 8 May 2019, concurrently with the 2019 South African general election, to elect the 73 members of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature.

Wynand Johannes Boshoff is a South African academic and politician from the Northern Cape serving as a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa for the Freedom Front Plus (FF+) since 2019. He has been serving as the Provincial Leader of the FF+ since 2015. He previously served as a municipal councillor of the Sol Plaatje Local Municipality from 2016 to 2019. Boshoff is the grandson of the assassinated apartheid-era Prime Minister of South Africa, Hendrik Verwoerd, who served from 1958 until 1966, and the son of Afrikaner enclave Orania founder, Carel Boshoff.

Tamarin "Tammy" Wessels is a South African politician who is the national youth leader of the Freedom Front Plus. She has been serving as a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa since May 2019. She was previously a Member of the Free State Provincial Legislature. Wessels is married to fellow FF Plus MP Wouter Wessels.

Wouter Wynand Wessels is a South African politician and a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa for the Freedom Front Plus. He took office as an MP on 1 December 2017 and succeeded the former party leader Pieter Mulder, who resigned from Parliament a day earlier. Wessels is married to fellow FF Plus MP Tammy Wessels.

Philip van Staden South African politician

Philippus Adriaan van Staden, known as Philip van Staden, is a South African politician from Gauteng. He has been serving as a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa for the Freedom Front Plus (FF+) since 2019. He previously represented the FF+ in the Gauteng Provincial Legislature from 2014 to 2019. Van Staden was a municipal councillor of the City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality from 2011 to 2014.

Frederik Jacobus Mulder, known as Jaco Mulder, is a South African politician serving as a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa since 2019. A member of the Freedom Front Plus (FF+), he is the provincial leader of the party in Gauteng. Mulder previously served as a Member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature from 2004 to 2014.

Ashor Sarupen is a South African politician who serves as a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa for the Democratic Alliance (DA), after having taken office on 22 May 2019. He is a representative of the party on both the Standing Committee on Appropriations and the Standing Committee on Finance. Refiloe Ntsekhe South African politician

Refiloe Nt'sekhe is a South African politician who serves as a Deputy Federal Chairperson of the Democratic Alliance (DA). She was elected to the position at the 2015 Federal Congress. Nt'sekhe was elected as a Member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature in the 2014 general election. She is also one of two national spokespeople of the DA.

Amanda de Lange is a South African politician who has been serving as a Member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature for the Freedom Front Plus since May 2019. Prior to her election to the legislature, she served as a councillor of the Mogale City Local Municipality.
