Mbali Dawn Hlophe is a South African politician. She has served as the Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Social Development,Agriculture and Rural Development in Gauteng since October 2022. She had previously served as the MEC for Sport,Arts,Culture and Recreation from May 2019 to October 2022. A member of the African National Congress,she has been a Member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature since May 2019.
Hlophe was born in Soweto in South Africa's former Transvaal Province. Her father worked as a priest at the Old Apostolic Church. [1] She matriculated from Parktown Girls High School and studied at the University of the Witwatersrand. [1]
Hlophe served as the president of the student representative council at Wits. [1] She was also a member of the provincial executive committee of the African National Congress Youth League for two consecutive terms and its spokesperson. [1]
At the provincial election held on 8 May 2019,she was elected to the Gauteng Provincial Legislature as an ANC representative,and was sworn in as an MPL on 22 May. [2] On 29 May,premier David Makhura announced his executive council. Hlophe was appointed MEC responsible for the provincial Department of Sport,Arts,Culture and Recreation. [3] [4] She was sworn in the following day.
On 7 October 2022,Hlophe was appointed Social Development MEC in the executive council led by the newly-elected premier Panyaza Lesufi. [5]
Paul Shipokosa Mashatile is a South African politician who is currently the Treasurer General and acting Secretary General of the governing African National Congress (ANC). Formerly an anti-apartheid activist in the United Democratic Front,he was a member of President Jacob Zuma's first cabinet,serving as Minister of Arts and Culture between 2010 and 2014. She served until 2009 when she was appointed MEC for Education. Newly elected premier David Makhura moved Creecy to the Gauteng Finance portfolio in 2014.
Andrek Lesufi known professionally as Panyaza Lesufi,is a South African politician who is the 7th premier of Gauteng. He served as the Gauteng MEC for Education from May 2014 until October 2022,despite a brief interruption in May 2019. He was appointed the Gauteng MEC for Finance and e-Government in May 2019,but returned to the post of Education MEC a day later. Lesufi is also a Member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature for the African National Congress (ANC) and the Chairperson of the party in the province,as well as a member of the South African Communist Party.
Thuliswa Winlove Nkabinde-Khawe was a South African politician and a party member of the African National Congress (ANC). She was elected a Member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature in May 2009 and was a long-serving member of the Social Development committee in the legislature,prior to her appointment as Gauteng MEC for Social Development in May 2019. She was an MEC until her death just over five months later.

She served as the chief whip of the provincial delegation. Motara is a member of the African National Congress.

She was the MEC for Finance and e-Government from May 2019 until October 2022. Nkomo-Ralehoko was elected to the Gauteng Provincial Legislature in June 1999.

She was the MEC for Economic Development,Agriculture and Environment from October 2019 to December 2020 as well as well as the Gauteng MEC for Social Development from December 2020 until October 2022. Prior to her election to the Gauteng Provincial Legislature in 2019,she served as a Tshwane city councillor. Mosupyoe is a member of the African National Congress.
