Apu Biswas Megha [4] (born 11 October 1989), [5] known by her stage name as Apu Biswas, is a Bangladeshi film actress, model and the former wife of notable Bangladeshi actor Shakib Khan. [6] Biswas made her debut in the film industry with the film Kal Shokale in 2005.

Contents

In 2006, she starred FI Manik-directed Koti Takar Kabin as the lead female opposite Shakib Khan for the first time, with whom she later acted in more than 75 films.

Early life

Biswas was born on 11 October 1989 as Apu Biswas Megha [4] in Bogra, Bangladesh to Upendronath Bishwas (d. 2014) and Shefali Bishwas (d. 2020). [5] [7] Upendronath Bishwas and Shefali Biswas had three daughters and one son, of whom Apu Biswas is the youngest. [7]

Career

Biswas made her debut in the film industry with the film Kal Shokale in 2006. [5] She then performed in Koti Takar Kabin . Biswas played the role of Parvati in the 2013 Bangladeshi remake of Devdas . [8] She performed in the 2013 film My Name Is Khan . [9]

Personal life

On 18 April 2008, Biswas married actor Shakib Khan. [10] The couple has a son, Abraam Khan Joy (born September 27, 2016). [11] They had kept their marriage a secret until 10 April 2017 when Apu appeared on television with her son and revealed it. [12]

Khan filed for a divorce on 22 November 2017, [13] and the couple was divorced on 22 February 2018. [14] Biswas had converted to Islam after her marriage with Khan and took the name Apu Islam Khan, [15] [16] [17] [18] but she reportedly reverted to Hinduism after their divorce. [19]

The film is directed by Chashi Nazrul Islam, who also directed the 1982 version and produced by Faridur Reza Sagar under the banner of his Impress Telefilm, based on the 1917 novel of the same name by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay. The film is set in the early 1900s and follows Shakib Khan as Devdas Mukherjee, a wealthy law graduate who returns from Calcutta after 13 years to marry his childhood sweetheart, Paro, played by Apu Biswas. Moner Jwala is a 2011 Dhallywood action thriller film. The film directed by Malek Afsary and produced by Taposhi Thakur under the banner of Heartbeat Production. It features Shakib Khan and Apu Biswas in the lead roles. It was Shakib Khan's first film of 2011. The film was released internationally as Moner Jwala: Most Wanted. Shakib Khan made his debut as a playback singer with the film.

Shahid Hasan, known by professionally as Misha Sawdagor, is a Bangladeshi film actor known for playing villains. As of 2020, according to him, he has performed in more than 700 films. He won Bangladesh National Film Awards 3 times for his roles in the films Boss Number One (2011), Olpo Olpo Premer Golpo (2014) and Bir (2020). He first got noticed as a villain in the 1995 film Asha Bhalobasha starring Salman Shah. After Shah's death, he continued playing the villain opposite other actors, but failed to achieve any mainstream success or recognition. Amit Hasan is a Bangladeshi film actor who was elected secretary general of the Bangladesh Film Actors' Association in 2015. In its review of 2011 cinema, The Daily Star included Amit Hasan among "Other stars that deserve mention". In January 2015 Hasan participated in a strike of Bangladeshi film artists against the screening of the Indian film Wanted in Bangladesh, calling for a boycott of Bangladeshi theatres showing the movie.
